How are you adapting?

Cooking more at home, kids are even seeing me back in the kitchen cooking again

$60 for Fast food and $100 plus for restaurants adds up fast.

Airfare, Car Rentals and Hotel fees are where I'm seeing it the most right now....this season is gonna hurt $$

I'm planning to do less trips, but stay longer, for both the river and the dunes. 5, 5 day trips instead of 12, 2 day trips. Less driving and still the same amount of dune/river time.

Also trying to not be wasteful in any aspect of life, consolidation of trips to the store, always eating left overs, etc. I always tried to do that, but now its important.

I've always been a tight-ass when it comes to money so its really not a huge difference for me......

couple people ragging on chipotle, i eat lunch there alot, because i think its the best value. i get a bowl with extra rice, beans double sofritas and its about $13 and its alot of food. if i go to the habit across the street a impossible burger and fries is more expensive and its not even close the same amount of food. other places are close to $20 for lunch. i eat alot so started looking for value not just price. for me i cant beat the value at chipotle. i rarely go to a regular restaurant, its just not worth the price. those little add ons like soda chips and other sides really add up quck. i try to keep it simple and less expensive.

i have cut back on my trips to chipotle and try to bring lunch a couple days a week. but a little way i save is i dont order drinks. i have a thermoflask of water with me all the time, i dont drink soda anyways. but $3-4 for just a drink. thats almost half the price of the food. sometimes ill get an ice tea and after i pay for it im like why did i do that.

as for glamis, im lucky as im a little more than 100 miles from my drive way to where we normally camp in wash 6. and i only have a flat bed with the rzr on it. im there and back in about 3/4 of a tank in the duramax. the gas will be more expensive but not the amount the rest of my group that comes from corona with big toy haulers. im worried our trips will get cut back so good chance i might be on here asking if i can join up with a group for a day. i just bought the rzr last season i dont want it just sitting in my garage. i was hoping to do a few more things to the rzr for this season but this might have to wait. so when you see me with a blockrocker speaker strapped in to the back seat of the rzr instead of a normal radio system dont laugh too much, i can still hear the music and i saved $2k

Well I have cut back alot on things in my life. Going from 2 incomes to one is the biggest part of that but the cost of things is also. I dont go out to eat at all been about a Year since I have done that.I really dont go anywhere on the weekends to save as much fuel as I can for my commute during the week which is now 100 bucks a week to just drive my little car to work.Only eat once a day which that started actually a few Years back because of medical issues and cut my meds in half "which not suppose too" to try to stretch them as far as I can without a refill. As I stated in another Thread camping trips will be for more days out then just quick trips.

My company I work for a BIG logistic company promised a pay bump but didnt follow through with it as promised and infact changed their policy on raises so now it will be 10-25 cents a year pay bump. So that Hurt.

I have zero debt expect for the Payment on the SXS so if things get real bad that will go up for sale and fully prepared knowing I will lose at least 8k on it but is what it is I guess..

I know these trying times hit everyone differently and I pray for you all to get through each day the best you can.

Got rid of all personal debt, moving out of state, focused on the nest egg by working the company hard last year then did the taxes a few days ago and they literally took said nest egg back. Shoulda just dumped the money back in the company but it gave me direction going forward. Am selling to an employee (family member) he was getting a SBA loan, having the gov take 1/2 of what I built in a lump some does not sit well with me so against my better judgement I'm going to gamble and carry the note. The inflation scares me the most, changes all the math on retirement drastically. Bought some series i bonds to hedge but they really limit the amount you can purchase annually to insignificance. Tighten the belts  :thumb:
