This summer we had some work done around our house (which is strange for me to see other folks work on my house).  the biggest of the projects was to get it painted.  a friend of the family (General house repair company) suggested Painting by Cellini and said "we have used Eric for years, he is REALLY good".  He was not lying.  Eric (& his #1, Cesar) did an outstanding job. We are SUPER happy with the job. I forgot to mention that Eric used to do stucco, so his repair skills are top notch.  I had a few spots that he fixed that you cant even tell were messed up.

For reference, this is July of 2022 & this cost me roughly $10K.  There was a good bit of wood prep, due to us not painting for 20 years and sun damage, and some stucco repair.  this is a 2000 sq ft house.  FWIW, there have been 5 or 6 houses painted on our block in the last year, & none of them took more than a 5 to 10 work days to complete.  Mine started on 26 May and finished on 21 June. There were a 4 "work days" in between when they were not @ the house working.  All of my neighbors jobs a bit cheaper than what I paid.  Most of these folks were between "not happy" or "unhappy" with the jobs they got...  and 3 of them used the same company...

Without any hesitation I would recommend them to anyone that needs a house painter.  We are in San Diego City, Im not sure how far he travels.

Looks great, very good coverage on that stucco.

I would think that's easily a $14k job.

Wife and I decided to tackle our own. Took 5 days including staining our patio roof that was raw wood for some time. Same company quoted us $8k, 1300 Sq ft. after already having quoted us $5k a year prior. We just said screw it, we'll do it. I hope to not need to do that again, ever! Next time, I'm coughing up the money.

I thought about doing it myself, but after I factored in buying ladders (2 story house), airless sprayer (buy or rent), learning how to do the stucco repair so it did not look horrible, the amount of time it would take me to do it, etc, etc, etc. AND, we got a VERY strong recommendation....  I had to just write the check.  Im glad I did (& so is my marriage).

Holy chit, $14K to paint a house? I would have thought $14K for new stucco and paint. Man am I out of touch with paying for house repairs, need to start a handyman business.

Yea, I was including the stucco work Bobalos had done. I had a small patch of ply wood above my garage door that needed to be converted to stucco and that cost a good amount. But hey, I don't know, I'm not the expert. I just know that I spent under $1,000 painting my house but the bickering for 5 days with the wife was priceless 😂

Im sure you know though............. you get what you paid for.  My neighbors did not pay what I paid, but they received the "power wash, tape off a few things & paint over everything else", Kind of paint jobs....

I like that.  Clean & simple.
it looks better trimmed out, I just didn't have any pics the drive. There was a lot of unnecessary crap all over the house   the back was the same way with the fence and faux brick

OP. That's about at 7_$8k job for us in Colorado. Top of the line paint. Spray and backroll the stucco 2x.

Thats without stucco repairs and assuming the windows are vinyl or metal clad and don't paint.

that takes as much time as the painting.  prepping, moving, cleaning, storing, hanging, throwing away, etc, etc, ....

We are getting close, there is some stucco issues around the bottom in a few spots and some of the wood should be replaced from weathering.

We know we will change the colors, but not the stone work......still undecided on the landscape. It's a love/hate relationship with all the damn rock the previous owner placed.

@endobear Im not much into the modern art kind of buildings, but that is pretty darn cool.  the view is awesome too.

is that just textured concrete on the outside?  do you just wash the crap out of it, fix the cracks & spray & roll back over it?

We had a few folks work here that came from a sister company in Denver & they said that being @ 5000+ feet the sun rips everything to shreds.  I never considered that...........  I can only imagine what its like in Albuquerque (7000'+).

I absolutely HATE painting.

We're remodeling inside right now.  Bathroom is 99% complete.  I told my GF she can paint the rooms whatever colors she wants.  BUT, SHE is painting it.

We did windows and huge sliding door last year, so there are a couple spots that need the stucco touched up.  Then repaint the exterior.  Not looking forward to that.
