Hourly rate, automotive

i think you must have not read my post. how does anything i said translate into "I set job rates in other areas"?" As a matter of fact i would generally think that California prices are always higher than Utah so I was making a general observation.  anti trust laws?  wow.  If i want to raise my rates because of my unique business based on the fact that a regular independent auto shop charges $200 for general car repair in another state then i will do so.   last time i checked, i calculate my inflation as 30% in business, not 7% of the things i buy.  and to think im raising my labor rate buy only 7.6%   i guess i should be hitting up carl's and Jack in the box for with antitrust and price fixing cause my combo went from $10 to $15 at both places  Hmmmm......
Buddy i am not beating on you i Just dont want you to get in trouble, California is very odd on price discussion, In Utah they might have different rates for different vehicles, or we might not know the full story, or it might work out to be the same price at the end, when Ford charged me $100 per man hour and had 4 guys on my truck, it took them 2 hours, other shops at $140 a hour but might have worked on it for 4-6 hours,

Steve, a member here blew up the motor in his truck in Utah and he had it towed back to CA where he lives and had someone put a motor in it and had a friend drive it back to tow his trailer home. I was surprised how fast he got it done, all by phone calls. DON~~~
I almost ended up towing it home. Thankfully i dodged that bullet. The truck is blowed up again. If i recall that blow up in utah he was quoted 17k$ for a new motor and that was back in like 2007.
thats what you do for good people though. Steve will drop what he’s doing to help you so would mike330r. I got a call from mike one night at like 11pm he broke his truck in jacumba. I drove to santee picked up steve, we went and got mikes flatbed and off we went for the rescue adventure.  People arent willing to do things like that for others anymore. Granted its harder for me now with wife 3 kids sick family, and tons of work

It blew up miles away from the RV park in Marysvale and the owner of the park had someone drive up and tow his trailer to the park. He drove the truck to Richfield (it only took a gallon of oil) to get it checked out and he called me to pick him up and the only thing I had was my side by side so I took it to Richfield to pick him up. DON~~~
