So, in the 70s we had a not so charismatic President who, despite popularity, lost the Presidency (granted, impeachment for something stoooopid), the following elected President was milquetoast and completely ineffectual, Russia invaded an apparently weak neighbor and was met with strong resistance, inflation was nuts, fuel prices crazy, and general shittiness was pervasive. Then we elected Reagan.

Does that mean we get another Reagan next? :biggrin:

 
Man I hope so because it sure seems all those other things are happening again.

You guys watch too much CNN.... Trump was the guy, the media did him in.  They learned from Trump they can and WILL destroy any republican....heck if Desantis runs you guys will be saying he is no good by the time CNN gets done with him.... Trump was surrounded by Traitors the ENTIRE time he was in the office, he trusted the Republican party and it  F'd him and Us HARD.........It is really a Nation of us against them now, the Washington Swamp is deep. My guess is you'll never see another "outsider" get elected, they have fixed the glitch.

Sorry man, Trump was not that man.  Donald Trump had no business being President.  With that said, he was probably the only President so far in my life that supported my issues and concerns.  It's hard to separate President Trump's platform from "The Donald".  Was he attacked by the left?  Absolutely.  Shoot, he was attacked by the GOP.  The whole time he was being attacked by the left...did the GOP "really" do anything about it?  No. 

Ultimately, I blame the GOP.  They have not groomed a viable and electable candidate in decades.  Quit trying to take America back to the 1950's.  Taking stances on issues like we are right now with abortion only divides America.  We need a younger, more updated and a "right leaning moderate" if Republicans are ever going to win back America.  Even now...are they grooming anyone?  Not really.  Maybe DeSantis but DeSantis is grooming himself because the GOP is doing nothing.  I see him as Donald Trump "lite".  But...in the end, Trump will most likely run again because Republicans suck and won't groom anyone.

Outside chance xiden gets impeached after elections.

Trump was not that guy.  Dude was/is a wrecking ball in a China closet. Struggled to get things done when he had republican congress. 

Still putting money on DeSantis after Trump proves his point of coming back in.

I fixed it for you.  You do realize that the GOP in DC put not ONE but TWO TRAITORS  as Trumps Chief of staff to ACTIVELY undermine his presidency???????  Think about that..... they ACTIVELY  worked against EVERYTHING he tried to do... then say again how it was Trumps fault he didn't get MORE done.

It's because of Reagan the GCA of '68 was amended to not allow citizens to own automatic weapons that weren't registered by May 19 1986.  I can only imagine what the next originally liberal actor turned conservative POTUS may try to do to the 2A community.

 
While I liked the things Trump did, it was the way he did most things that you just had to look away and say WTF.

He ran the Presidency like it was a season of Celebrity Apprentice after he fired all of the Executive Producers.  When it was time for him to send out a talking head to answer questions that didn't need answering in the first place or at least needed to be answered with tact and diplomacy he would walk out to the podium and wing it. 

I felt that it was the first debate where he had Chris Wallace about ready to throw up his hands and say Eff this was when he lost the election.  After that the illusion that he wasn't fit for the job was a easy sell to that voter who just couldn't vote for Hillary four years earlier.

I am afraid that the next election he will not get the (R) ticket and instead of just going back to being the Donald he will run as a (I) and split the vote giving us 4 more fun filled Biden/ Harris years.

While I don't disagree, my point is the guy came in too hard. He did warn us, but there were times he could have came in and instead of trying to be the bully just deal with the situation instead of inflaming it. 

Still waiting for that suppressor ban to be revoked....

 
Think a out how miserable work is when you work with back stabbers and people chipping away at you.  Trump had Everyone  against him the entire 5 years. After be was elected they were still against him. He could give away ice cream and everyone still complained

I cant imagine the nerves of steel he has

like Mac said he has been the only president that cared a out the issues I bave. I hope him or Desantis win and correct the wrongs as cSt as possible

ife in the USA cant go on like it is today !! It is so  tense and disruptive to progress and important issues
