Need to build new headers for my mid engine 5.7 LS car. Used to have twin turbos , I didn't like the Lag so I installed a Whipple and just adapted the headers to the original mufflers and the headers are holding it back. Need new mufflers anyway. Any recommendations on primary tube and collector sizes? I am very limited on space so I will have to custom fab them myself. Looking for 700+ hp. It made that with turbos and the engine is cammed for the Whipple but before I dyno it again It needs better injectors and headers. (only does 500 and change now)

700hp you are 2 -2.25” depending on header design and engine build sheet. What really matters is volume. If you really want a “tuned” header buy pipe max software and input all of your engine data. If you aren't a serious drag racer squeezing every last single number from your engine, You will be fine with a 2” header around 20-24” long primary. And honestly you will be fine with a 2” header that fits not equal length and is built to fit (given your statement of tight fit).
