has anyone seen a compound turbo set up in the dunes?

just curious if anyone has seen one or know of any successful reports of someone running one. I am usually a "KISS" kind of guy but i do have some interest in a custom project

Never seen or even heard of one. If it worked there would be plenty out there already. With these new cars making 30psi why compound them? The LS style block can only handle so much pressure.

Maybe he's thinking low end... Be cool to get supercharger type results with turbos.

I doubt if John is worried about LS blocks! I hope you do it John. I am always glad to see people breaking the usual ol' mold. (Lack of money holds me back).

Compound turbos can be incredible to make instant low end boost. And are more efficient in that they can broaden the power curve. Basically n the application I’m thinking is a GTR v6. There would be the basic two turbos hanging off the exhaust manifolds. The tail pipes of these two turbos hanging off then get tied together and go through a single larger turbos exhaust housing. This larger turbo compressor side then feeds the inlet of each smaller turbos cold side inlet. If the big turbo produces 15 psi to the two smaller turbos. And the smaller turbos also run at 15 psi the result is that the smaller turbos act like they are only making 15 psi but in reality are now capable of putting out twice their rated hp! So a smaller turbo rated at 300 hp turbo could net 600 hp (per turbo). The small turbo would spool instantly because they are extra small in comparison to the engines cc's. Once those primary waste gates open then all the exhaust from the two primary turbos including the wastegate exhaust is pumped through the big turbos hot side. Yes. This idea would then have three turbos on one 3.8 liter engine. 1200 hp and all three turbos are only thinking they are doing 15 psi and instant boost. I think my country coach 525 cat motor has compound turbos factory. It does 1650 ft lbs at 1300 rpm

compounding turbos on a rear engine v8 would be pretty busy, but to have three turbos on a mid engine v6 with one huge turbo out the back would be awesome (looking and sounding) peace!

I haven’t seen any in the dunes, I feel like there maybe was an old Mazda rotor compound turbo way back sand drags
Boating world it’s done, on big cube motors, but usually compound with blower and twin turbos like Alexi ( former boostpower) quad rotors also.
There’s a guy ChrisV on RDP that all he does is GTR’s I’m sure if anything can or has been done he will know all the in’s and outs to it, he’s to gtrs as you are to subi’s
