Anyone else watching this disaster unfold? It's been nothing but comical at this point. I've been super excited about it since it was announced over a year ago! I have family in Vegas and said, I will be there. Well, forgot all about it.

My sister is there and she's been sending me pics and all the shenanigans there in person, along with all the social media and mishaps during qualifying like a sewer valve cover (yes, those solid steel caps on road) coming up and damaging a Ferrari lol to ice bags on actual wooden pallets (from nearby concessions for drinks) now leaking onto the track. Then the "chase" classic cars for the opening where one overheated and leaking coolant to another one just lost its bloodline! Yes!! Oil now on the track!!

No big deal right?? Wtf!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing Sergio Perez dreamy story from Mexico kid racing for Red Bull to perform. But then somehow he's sabotaged by being told to pit early in Q2 laps? He was in a solid position. Wtf?!!!

You seriously can't make this ishhh upppp!!

Flag drops in 1hr!!

First 4 laps have been a cluster fock! A virtual safety car and an actual safety car.

Absolute beast of a race!! Not bad Vegas, not bad!! Can't believe the red bull team, can't believe LeClerc had it in him on the last lap! Damn that was good. Caught Perez slippin'. Good show!

I love how people commit that are not at the race and do not live here, a bunch of youtubers add drama,  most races that are street races have tech issues. just part of street racing,  issues where in practice, q1-q3 went well, and turned out to be the best race of the year so far.

What a Amazing race,  This was one of the best racing all year, and speeds at 215 mph on the street.

Truly nail biter at the end,  Charles held 1st most of the race,  when Perez took 2nd, i thought it was over,  and on the last lap even with a tow from Max, the tow helped but could not get the job done, Charles had DRS and then took 2nd at the last lap,

What got into Lance, he made 5th when Alanso was 9th. wtf

The battle between Gasly and Albon was epic. then was told to cut it out.

It was also good to see Ricardo place above Yuki.  even know Yuki did not finish Ricardo was above him most of the race.

Think it was dumb for Oscar to hold out for the tire change till the end and then did it before the Yellow flag when Nico went out.

So much action i can not think of a better race all year.

I thought the race was awesome. Don't normally see this tight racing in F1. Driving the podium to the Bellagio for interviews and back to the podium was definitely different. Can't imagine the feel of the speeds they encounter. Good racing. Peace

As a somewhat n00b to Vegas I'm really glad it went off well.  I remember when San Jose had a F1 GP back when I lived in neighboring Santa Clara... it didn't go as well, and SJ didn't have the money and resources to keep F1 coming back.  I think Vegas did an amazing job for their first attempt, and I hope to see it continue.  It's awesome seeing stuff like this.  From the Raiders moving here (even as a life-long, and still, '9ers fan), the Knights having huge success (even as a Sharks fan from their first season... though TBH I'm about to be a turncoat, and not because the Knights won the Cup last year, because I don't believe in what the Sharks are doing in the front office and their focus on LBGTQXYZ#hockeyisforeveryone instead of finding ways to win), and now the A's heading this way (as a life-long Giants fan) it's really exciting.  I just hope Vegas and NV at large can turn back to voting read and do a bit more about the stupid Dem policies that are making NV just CA2.0.

The race did turn out awesome after the first 4 laps. Perez did an amazing job coming from 11th on the grid despite losing second place on the last lap. Some good hard racing and some exciting overtakes throughout the race. It was fun watching a street circuit with plenty of passing unlike other street circuits.

Why did MCL have Piastri pit with back to back Hard tires??? They caused themselves precious Constructor's points. Great race nonetheless.

The plan for most was to pit early during the safety car. but had more safety cars than expected,  Look how McClaren waited till the end to pit and cost them 3rd to 9th.

To be considered local status, for a Vegan you have to make it to Buggy Roundup at Dumont.

See you there this year?

I noticed that. I am hoping the development of the 24 SF and Benz cars are coming along to challenge RB. I am a Hammertime fan but am also rooting for Oscar now.

I didn't watch a second of the race.

BUT, I did have my boots on nearly the whole course last week doing track prep.  With the condition of the asphalt I'm surprised it wasn't hours of yellow flag "racing".

If I lived in Vegas and had to deal with the cluster F this race has created, I'd be furious.  Just having to maneuver through if for a week or so was more than I needed.  The start of my first day was stopping at a Circle K to grab water and Monster.  Dude laying on the sidewalk getting chest compressions from a cop.  Oh boy...and away we go!

Reminded me why I haven't been to Vegas for recreation for nearly 15 years.

Hey, I ain't no dang Vegan! :laugh1:

What's the latest on Buggy Roundup, did they end up moving the dates?

Was a fun race.

And yeah, chit show, but normal. It’s a heavy lift to put on an F1 race. One thing that surprised me was running it in Nov when the avg night temps are in the 40s.

95% locals did not even notice,

Just about everyone i know does not go down to the strip or that area,  it would be like thinking Californians live at Disneyland and work at the beach,  50 years in Vegas and have been to the Stip area maybe 5 times 4 out of the five was in my 20's

Most of the Road issues are not From F1,  most are from Kiewit redoing the 1-15 from Blue Diamond to Sahara for the new Freeway design build for the Oakland Raiders,  and Las Vegas Paving Redoing the 215 from I-15 to the curve,  but all blame it on F1,

If you want to be Instagram Famous or get attention, you have to make up drama, that is the only way.

Due to the road being washed out from Baker,  I think BR will be small and a lot of locals that are friends with Pete,  I am taking off the full week if anyone wants to meet up,  it is a hard time of year for most being 2nd weekend of December.   Dumont only being 90 miles from Vegas, it is pretty easy to get to,  From other places with Baker shut down, it makes it a lot longer,

Buggy Roundup will go early for next year,

It will be in March,  not sure the date but hopefully earlier in March

Speaking of shut down roads, anyone notice the 15 get shut down today? Between mountain pass and state line. Supposedly due to a dust storm with zero visibility. My sister drove to Barstow from Vegas and then tried to head back. Turned a 2hr drive back into 6hrs. 8hr round trip to Barstow. Eek.

I heard they signed an Eight (8) year contract to race in Vegas. Looks like this race will be around a while. Peace
