good quality workboots

My son has just taken a job @ a manufacturing facility that is requiring non-Marking rubber soles and a leather top that will not allow any kind of chemicals to get into the toe area.  no steel toe requirement.

Are Redwing boots still the work-boot goto?

Are there other alternatives out there that are comfortable for standing pretty much all day?

FWIW, we are in San Diego.  it would be great for him to go try some on.
They started giving us boot vouchers at work this year.  Went with Red Wings since they were on the list.  IF you go that route, hit the Clairmont store rather than El Cajon (if you're east county).  3 of us had to go to Clairmont for our size after not having them at EC.

I wear Danners 40 hours a week at work. Used to be about 60 hours a week before OT was taken from me. I get about 5-7 years out of a pair before replacement. USA made.

White's have held up good for me and are rebuildable.
White's make an excellent lineman boot but I wore West Coast, they were still custom fitted but half the cost of White's.

I wore Danners later in my career when I wasn't climbing as much. Danners were very comfortable. Still have a pair but don't need them to post meme's all day.

Might try it.  Could keep you from reposting yourself.  :classic_ninja:

I was a big fan of redwings for a very long time but the company has changed. It's a shame with all of those franchise stores relying on a quality boot. There are very few made in the USA (Important to me) models and when I took the boots in to have a sole that had come completely off repaired, they wanted to charge me. I told em I was gonna toss them instead.

My next set will  be Whites but at $600, I wouldn't recommend em for your son.

I recommend Keen boots. I’ve been wearing boots for 35 years. These are the most comfortable I’ve ever had and the quality is fantastic. Made in USA .

Well yall got me to thinkin.

They shined up purty good. Given they are 35 years old. LOL the places these have been.

i have 2 buddies that swear by brunt work boots

I basically live in my boots, 60+ a week during peak season, and I get 0 minutes of sit down time per day 🙃.  I have tried every brand I could find, for me Georgia boots are the absolute best. Available at every major boot store, and online.

Timberland pro’s all day long. I even wear their regular shoes since everything else is effin chinese garbage now ie nike, adidas, dc, dvs chinese sellouts

i’ve heard rumors redwings, danner, carolina and even timberland pro are going chinese too quietly
Being using Timberland Pro for about 25 years.
