13 years since the my last Glamis trip and looking to make a trip around November before thanks giving mayhem. The last few times i was there I was in a toy hauler , this round I am looking at coming for 3days from Idaho and lookin for some advise and suggestions on tent camping. Looking to come down and play on old with my built quad.

1- Water- there was a gas station in Brawly that had free water does this still exist.

2- Glamis flats for bathrooms and vendor row for food ect?

3- Does the store still have showers?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

1. IDK - but i would just bring fresh water and stay away from non-potable

2. I don't think the Glams Beach store has opened the bathrooms and showers back up since covid, vendor row still has good food options

3. see 2 :)

i always tent camp, i put the tent on my flatbed trailer so the tent is not on the ground, dont know why i just feel better about on the trailer than the ground.

as for water not sure how much you need or looking to bring if you are looking for a gas station. i always bring a case of bottled water and have always gone home with  extra.

bathrooms, flats has one by vendors row and every wash up too wash 10 has bathrooms.

showers...normally only do weekend trips so i just shower when i get home, not sure what way you are heading but the loves truck stop in westmorland has showers if you wanted to shower before heading home. i also bring baby wipes, little shower in a box, and for bathroom trips.

food... if you dont want to pack a bunch vendors has some good food. i bring a small bbq and make my own food but that is more because i do not eat the type of food they serve at vendors. i have one ice chest that is only for food that stays closed so it stays cold, separate chest for the drinks since that one will be opened and closed a lot.

You probably know this but for a shower or just to rinse off your head and neck after a ride you can poke holes in the lid of a 1gal water bottle. Keep refilling as needed from the tap water you bring. Conserves a little better than a direct stream.

A sun shower is another option. Probably pick one up for less than $20, Amazon or?

Only wash 4, 6, and 10 have bathrooms. They are not at every wash.

Just an FYI, While sleeping on a trailer or back of the truck is cleaner, it is much colder.  Just make sure you are getting a sleeping pad that has some insulation properties (thermorest for example), not just an air mattress.  Also most better sleeping bags have less insulation on the bottom than the top because most backpacking pads do have some insulation properties.  Shouldn't be an issue most of the time in November.

Gecko side has almost all the vault bathrooms in Glamis, but that is the higher traffic area that would suck for tent camping.

As long as your within a short ride to a Vault Bathroom, I'd camp in the washes that is also near Vendor Row.

Its not like you need to be within walking distance to either, but far enough to have a little personal space is nice too.

i do put a foam pad down, and i put an old bedspread over the top of the tent too, only a couple nights last season where i was really cold. if prices on toyhaulers would come back down i would not have to use a tent. maybe one more season in the tent.

Stopped using a tent my after my first couple trips 20 years ago.  Back of the truck.  Now using old futon, decent sleeping bag and a packing blanket on top.   That keeps out wind, light and some noise.

Even my girls gave up on tents and just sleep in bags on the open trailer.

That's awesome.

My boys need a trip like that, my girls won't...haha

Tent camping,... oh yeah.. I did 10 days when I was 19 with a buddy from HS.. we showered twice. Witnessed the biggest wind storm I've EVER seen in glamis, we lost gas cans.. tents.. all our chairs.. not sure what the wind was, but there might be a 'record' from back then.. I'm thinking like 1991/1992. I'm a firm believer in putting my $$ into the toys (best performance) and accommodations second. Heck my 2 RZRs are worth more than my TH, Toy Box and all the tow vehicles we have.. and cars.. It is hard to go back once you have a TH, but they're all the same.. I bought my current 5th for $15k and it works great (about 4/5 years ago).

Tent it and enjoy the adventure. Just going is the fun IMO.

PS. The TH rental companies are overpriced and the units suck. Again, money into the toys/trip is a better ROI.

Don't do tent camping for Glamis, but have done it lots for Jeep sheeyit.  I get super greasy, so daily showers are a must for me.  Bought one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/CAMPLUX-ENJOY-OUTDOOR-LIFE-AY132/dp/B01CJPU6JI/ref=asc_df_B01CJPU6JI/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=193984242218&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11434783456723158558&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061197&hvtargid=pla-311367582208&psc=1

And run an old RV water pump that doesn't seal well (constantly turned on throughout the night) to a 55gallon drum.  Will pull a prime and pump even with the pump on top of the drum.  Made a quickie shower enclosure out of PVC and a $2.99 tarp from Harbor Freight that sits on the flatbed.  Takes about 10 minutes to set up or tear down, cost was maybe $30 all in, and a lot more room/stability than one of those privacy tent dealios.  Replaced the shitty stock hose with cut to length garden hoses and a garden nozzle with the 57 settings ("mist" works well for the initial rinse, then "shower" for post-soap rinsing) since it's easier to turn on and off "Navy shower" style.

If this is a one-time deal, 5 gallon shower bags in the sun work well.

Bathrooms?  Piss on a bush, ride to the toilet for #2.    Bathrooms and the surrounding areas are complete $hit-shows.  I wouldn't want to be in a tent there.

@jareddustin I use the 2 cooler method, but one is just ice, the other is food/drinks.  Ice seems to last longer that way.
