50' seems a bit excessive but I'm not opposed to the lanes in general. Some major weekends you can't even get to your own camp in the flats, it's a zoo.

I just caught that they are also adding a camp host to the flats.
 
Was it needed. Yes, but really only for a few big weekends. No need to name them. We all know which ones. Other than those weekends it won't really matter much.
 
Giant sea of RVs and the maze through them is part of the fun.

I see many arguments/fights over claimed land resulting from this... Should be entertaining.
 
when they did this in Pismo it was great and terrible at the same time
sure it made getting to and from the beach to the dunes more accessible
sure people faught to get the prime spot next to the fence/corner they preferred
sure people camped in the lanes, blocked the lanes at the beach and above at the dunes
still had to weave thru large camps

The travel lanes also turned into mashed potatoes as people got stuck... Then the next guy came through and got more stuck... Then the next next guys came through and got more more stuck...

BLM could always use a water truck to apply magnesium chloride like they do Wash Road is what yore suggesting?

I read that stuff costs $6k per mile initially, then $3k each re-application.

What? No. I'm saying reusing "lanes" with motorhomes in the sand is not awesome.
 
sweet. Should make it easier when I'm transporting cars, RV's and trailers out there.
 
I don't camp there, but we have had our access to our camp with trailers/motorhomes blocked leaving no choice but to drive through someone's camp to get out. Obviously were not driving through the dunes with a toyhauler.

I could see something like this being implemented in the washes as well.
