I know I could just call Grant, but I am wondering if anyone has added more gas storage to their car. I have a Gen 4 with turbo Honda running on E85, I think stock tank is 14 gallons. Every ride I come back on fumes, last trip with nearly 650lbs of passengers, it was even more so, to the point on some hills the engine was running out of gas. Even a run to Duners Diner from Pad 1, I am on fumes. Our rides are usually about 35 miles of duning.

Another 5 gallons would be awesome, any ideas??

I have had Funco supply me with new fuel tanks. 2 seat cars are easy, 4 seat I am not sure about. @Grant@Funco knows best.

My 2 seat cars went from 12/14 gal to 25/30 gal tanks. I absolutely love the weight placement and range.

I don't have the back seats in my car anymore. So I added this 5 gallon aluminum tank to the floor in the rear. Then it has a simple low pressure fuel pump on a toggle switch to pump it into the main tank. Takes about 9 minutes at our first or second stop once I know I've used 5 gallons. It is easily removable.

If your car is full of people you could always custom build a tank that mounts in the center. Where I have my battery which it has always been there. That would be a project though to weld together a custom tank. Also Beachhead Bob in our group years ago had a custom tank built where the rear storage box is. I believe that tank held more than 5 gallons like my small tank. If the old site existed and hadn't crashed there would probably be photos of that tank somewhere laying around.

I bought that little tank from Boyd welding. https://fueltankparts.com/products/...9_7lGoCO7kz6u77ybZTveZYHJNbZQVikaAk8nEALw_wcB very good quality. Actually sitting here thinking about it if you bought the right size tank to fit in the middle of your car then just have someone cut a notch in the bottom and weld plates in for the shift shaft to run through the bottom of the fuel tank and then bolt it down. Matter of fact Boyd would probably just build that for you if you gave them dimensions. Then you could just do a transfer pump like I did. Simple deal.

Or get really fancy and just hole saw two holes and weld a tube in it just like the factory Funco tank is done. Of course you'd have to remove the shift shaft to get the tank out though.

I am thinking the same thing, change out the bench seat and get two bucket seats, then have a tank built that would go between the seats to floorboard over shift shaft, should be able to add 4 gallons easily.

Anyone want to trade a bench seat for two buckets, haha
