Fuel Line - Push Lock vs Compression Fitting

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the feedback and fine advice.
Last time that I did fuel lines, about 12 years ago, I used XRP AN compression fittings with braided stainless steel hose. This time I think I will go the same route with the XRP fittings but may change to the nylon braided hose from Earl’s.
XRP makes a Black Braided hose equivalent to the Pro 350 Earls, but it uses a slightly tighter braid - Its called XRP XR31 , I was a Pro Lite (no stainless internal braid) and Pro 350 (internal stainless braid) fan until we started selling the XR31 in the store. It is definitely is an easier install with the XRP fittings

We stock 5000 fittings and all the hose, you don't need to get it from us, but we can steer you in the right direction as to what Part numbers you need etc. if you give me a call

Thanks again for all of your great information.
Send a PM with your phone number and I’ll call you later this afternoon.

Nylon is definitely the way to go. Lighter, doesn’t destroy everything it touches, and non-conductive. I was welding my buggy once upon a time and the ground clamp popped off and landed on my brake line. Stopped welding to a wasted line and a small fire. Luckily, it wasn’t a fuel line…
What is funny about braided line is, not really the same for the topic but good story, in Idaho last year my car kept cutting out loosing power, swith pros circut breaker flashing on hard G outs, then i lost the clutch pedal,
Thought it was a master cylinder, nope - the clutch line braided flopped onto the brake light switch with the two small screws on top and grounding out the car, and finally burnt and cut the clutch line apart.

Ugh. I remember those days.

Been using the cloth braided line for a long time now. No "shorting" issues that way. 👍🏼

Finished putting all the fuel lines together and installing them.
No leaks!
I also added a shutoff valve and a “T”. So now I can change filters etc. without making a big gas mess and drain the tank when needed.
