That is the dumbest thing i think i have heard, are you sure the doctor said that and not a PA or a nurse. If so i would see another doctor just to make sure, the dr said no helmet would have been better in this case than no helmet. who knows though
Sorry to hear that. Dont eff around with head injuries. Sometimes you dont really fully recover. Have a customer that got a bad concussion from a streetbike accident. He recovered but was never the same. He lost all personality and pretty much came off as a pee pee to everyone that talked to him. I had a bad dirtbike wreck in 2010 and was unconscious for about 5 min. I feel like my brain doesnt work the same since. My buddy lawn darted a can am.
He was wearing a helmet.
However his helmet was old, outdated or defective, when he lawn darted they say the helmet caused him to have 12 fractures in his skull from where the cage folded into his head. bar hit him in the face, caused him to have a really bad black eye that swole shut within 20 minutes of the accident. He refused treatment, rangers came, police came, hell everyone came and thought he had been drinking (doesn't drink just ran out of talent), and went to sit in the rv. within about 10 minutes he threw up probably a gallon of blood, at least they say that what it looked like. They hauled him home, went to ER and he's still trying to heal up about 3 weeks later. Dr said the helmet did more damage than good, as the foam was bad I guess. That can am cage sure didn't hold up well. My other buddy lawn darted and went 3 times end over end in his rzr and even though it was a factory cage it did hold up.
looking at that can am cage, it was paper thin.
He will recover just be a slow process.
did a quick search and found a bunch of different ones, what one do you use? im susceptible to concussions and i need a light helmet. i have been waiting to switch to a full face but have not found one as light as my fly motorcross helmet.whole fam runs the carbon fiber impact helmets. super pricey but nothing compares to this helmet. so light it feels like you're not wearing one. can not put a price on your safety is how
I justified the costs
carbon fiber air draft OS20. you can buy through PCI or rugged pre wired. Give PCI Radios a call and they will give you a breakdown of helmets. They sell the Impact helmets pre-wired. Pyrotect helmets are pretty lights as well.did a quick search and found a bunch of different ones, what one do you use? im susceptible to concussions and i need a light helmet. i have been waiting to switch to a full face but have not found one as light as my fly motorcross helmet.
