Buy as close to you as you can, do not wait till the last stop available. If you do you might just find yourself backtracking because all the weekly passes have been sold.

Yes because there is no free public parking, you'll get cited for no week pass once your off the highway.

I might be wrong, but I think if you stay in the vendor area or by the store you don't need a pass. That area is not BLM land.

Correct, you can pull into the store and park, (leaving your car there would not be advised) or you can drive on sand highway between the store and the vendors without a pass. However drive to far or drive out the wrong way and you just got a ticket
