I first heard about this through stoptech. They were an OEM for us for a time, providing our scion big brake option. Ridiculous to put big brakes on a scion Xb but the quality was good enough back then that Toyota used them as an OEM which says something. Quality dropped off substantially about 6 years ago when they were acquired by best brands. Sounds like the ol' pump and dump.Billions in fraud charges. Company has $9B owed, maybe $12M on hand. Lot of people are gonna lose their ass on this.
Yep. We used them on almost all of our builds in the same timeframe. Didn't realize quality had dropped off though.I first heard about this through stoptech. I am guessing this is more common than we would like to see. Some many smaller brands are getting acquired by Brand Management companies with the goals to simplifying the operations and backend of the business. All thinking they will be more profitable, it is a viscous cycle.
This is odd, to me. I’ve used every reputable company out there for brakes on my Tundra and the absolute last one I would consider to be in the avenue of OEM quality is Stoptech. I used them in 2010 on all four corners and they came off far before any of the other manufacturers product. I was far from impressed… wonder who at Toyota got paid to make that call.I first heard about this through stoptech. They were an OEM for us for a time, providing our scion big brake option.
