This should be fun! Well I will have to do some serious digging for pics and check back.

about a hundred years ago (1983/84), a VeeWee buddy of mine had a dune buggy that had a 2180 & a swing axle.  I thought it was SUPER cool.

fast forward to about 2013 & my buddy from AZ invited me to Glamis for MLK weekend & I got to ride & drive his Ricochet.  WOW was that different than a VeeWee.  I was ready for something new & wanted to involve my boys, so I bought a 4 seat VeeWee from a family friend & we stripped it down to the frame & rebuilt the whole thing.  we beat the snot out of that thing for about 5 years.  trying to keep up with long travel LS cars we managed to break just about everything on this thing (multiple times), but the experience with my boys........... priceless....

Buggy Wrapped 1.jpg

Then we moved up to something less hard on the body & a lot nicer to ride in.

Eli & Anna, buggy 1 B, Feb 18.jpg

one of my favorite pictures.  Hard to see but my wife & sons are sitting in the car while I got the picture.  Buggy 2, Nov 18 small.jpg

For Me it was Bikes, bikes, Bikes, then broke my back on a Jet Ski , well Stand ups were bikes on the water ...

First car was a VW so bad I can't even find a pic

Second car was a "well used "($50)  Dico chassis  circa 1985   built a Turbo VW  for it (its the blue car)  did that one in '92  then the first Long Travel a  Ron Lummis  Car  500HP Outfront Subi that was 99

image.jpegimage.jpeg

Wife wanted it purple ...

image.jpeg

Move to LS cars - Liked the .net cars Bought a couple  - Built and sold   the first bone  - thought I could do better     - Not sure why I changed cars  - I basically built the same car over ...

they were Blown of course first was 2004  last 4 seater was an 06

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

I decided to go Big but 2 seat

So I built the wife a lil Busa powered rail for her ... (Of course I drove it more - it was a blast)

image.jpeg

And of course I had to build a Rhino  - it was the thing to have for som e reason... and everyone in Havasu had one in my neighborhood

image.jpeg

Next up - 2012  Mosebilt 2 seater  Supercharged 396 LS  and 26" travel

at 102" wide - swapping tires for the trailer - got old ...

image.jpeg

2014 Back to a .net car - this time  2 seater  superchargeed 396 again (great combo)

Mosebilt rolled the roof for me  - tipped the scales at 2000Lbs and had 676HP RWHP

image.jpeg

Bought Wife a Rzr to match the car

IMG_4860.JPG

that lasted 2 trips - picked up a VW Tatum from matt86m and swapped it over to Ecotec for the wife - much happier ...

Happy wife, happy life and all that  ....

image.jpeg

New Engine - New SC , New Sequential, new Body work on the SC.net

image.jpeg

and  after one trip back on the dyno after  new heads, new cam, bigger SC  Had to see 840 RWHP ...

image.jpeg

2018  1500RWHP in the garage was nice ...

image.jpeg

Business down turn moved me to this clean lil  Buggy works car ...

image.jpeg

Pandemic came along ...  Car went under the knife ....

2022 - now

We left the front suspension and lower cage  ...  New everything else -  Built a nice 427  supercharged of course , New S4, etc

Scaled out at 1985 Lbs  "Lite is Mite"

image.jpegimage.jpeg

Going e85  and repainting white for this season  - chasing 1100 RWHP

Probably the last car for me ...

:chew: :dan: :carrot: :ftf: :golf1:

Started off on Bikes,

1995 YZ 250, then sold that for a

2000 KX 250, trying to find pics

then found an awesome deal on a 2002 CRF 450-R that was CA plated (still trying to find pics)

Had a xr50 and KLX 110 as well

Sold everything around 2008 and saved up to buy a house. which we did in 2010

Since I had no toys but still went with my buddy's I built the one and only RACE CHAIR (Still have it)

Then around 2014 bought 2007 Rhino and flatbed

Sold that in March 2021...

Then ordered a 2022 Can Am XRS Turbo RR in October of 2021, got it Aug 2022.

'78 ATC70

'84 ATC110

'84 ATC200S

'85 ATC250R

'00 TRX400EX

'08 RHINO 700

I know there are family photos somewhere... :atc70:

Makes me want to bug my dad for pics from the early days.

ATC 70. to a 110, (rode my mom's 125 sometimes too) - 185s with front forks, 1985 200x, - then where I have pics below...mix of my wife's toys too (as we all know, we ride them too :) )

Saved my money and had 2 jobs for a few years - bought a sand bullet buggy as a kit back in 2004..painted and put it together myself (brother helped)

image.png

Bought a Pilot for the wife several years later:
image.png

Wildcat for for wife a few years after that (POS)

image.png

Got her an ACE 900 (she missed the safe feeling of her Pilot but not the suspension)..also used it as am opportunity to learn how to tig weld and bend tubes - looked at cost of a cage vs a cheap tig welder and bender and it was abot the same.

And finally - my dream ride - after having the same hayabusa buggy for almost 15 years:

IMG_3381_38103958555201.jpegEvolution of off-road cars in one picture.

IMG_8845.jpegstarted on bikes as a kid and haven’t stopped at 50 years old and don’t plan too.

IMG_0418.jpeg

started camping in glamis in tents as a kids with my parents and brother. Now with my own family we graduated to motorhome.

IMG_7267.jpegwent from the green buggy in the top pick to this one once the kids outgrew the back seats.

Started going to Glamis in 1973. Had a single roll bar "tunnel buggy." swing axle 40hp VW.  Stopped going in 1977 and didn't go again until 2000 with some friends. Had a bicycle trip I was working on and put off starting a rail until that was done. Got home and built a vw car similar to a Hi Jumper only I made my frame a little wider and taller. Turned out to be much more comfortable car. It was a 2276 and built swing axle. Used it untill 2007 and then went to Larry Short to get one of his cars as a kit to do the Hayabusa thing. I scared the crap out of myself with that car and only keep it 2 years. Bought another vw car, a Chenoweth mid engine swing axle in 2010 and still drive it today, thou it has changed and is now a 3.5 Honda 2d car. Pretty sure it is my last car but you never know.

Last 2 pics are from this last Memorial day trip, one of the best of the year!
