Anyone have any knowledge of these units? I believe they came out of a Saturn Vue.
Ive had this setup for roughly 8 years and it's always worked great. Suddenly, it powers on with my battery disconnect and works as it should for approx. 5 seconds and then shuts off. Each time I cycle the battery power it works again.....for 5 seconds. I hear the click when I powers up and then again when it goes dead. Ive been advised to turn the assist knob all the way down for 10 seconds or so and sometimes that fixes them. I had no luck.

I just went through an issue like this. Check the blue plug that connects into the brain. Any kind of corrosion will stop it from connecting. I had to swap the plug and it worked great since.

My plugs all look and feel like they are in very good shape. I'm reading it's possibly the torque sensor that has gone bad. Im not finding any replacement parts. I might be replacing this thing.

You have to have certain voltages on the two ‘control’ wires. Some of the controller have a diode and others do not. Maybe your controller is shot. Worth a check.

How is it getting power to work as it should with your battery disconnected?

It doesn't work with the battery disconnected. It works for 5 seconds when the disconnect is powered on
