Dual sport choices

Have any input on these? I see mixed reviews online from its basically a crf with blinkers to its a heavy pos only suited for road use.

I did around 200 miles on it in one day. It was on a pre-production to get miles built up. Yes its basically is a CRF but detuned for emissions. I didn't think it was heavy at all in the dirt. I thought it handled good. I did take it on the 15 Highway and with everyone doing 80 it was a little sketchy and I felt like I was ringing its neck at top speed. I thought overall it was a great bike. However I would definitely change the seat. It has the same seat as the CRF and my ass was hurting for awhile after the ride.

Consider getting a 2010ish KTM 690 Enduro..I had that motor in a supermoto and loved it...6 speeds. I had a drz400 before that, it was too slow...IIRC the 690 was only like 30 pounds heavier. Power and the weight of the 690 was perfect.

I did have a 690 enduro a few years ago that I bought for cheap and flipped it to make a few bucks on it. It was comfortable on the road/highway. I didn’t feel very confident off-road on it at all. Was a bit too heavy to take up any steep trails. I took the DRZ up some pretty gnarly spots this weekend and felt like it handled them well and was easy to tractor up obstacles. If I was planning on doing a lot of street riding or highway speed runs, I probably wouldn’t care for it much

I was considering older wr’s ir maybe a new crf450rl, but i was just looking at the beta 430 & 500 rs and damn i think i made up my mind and buy a new one. Gotta figure which one i want
