I have been scammed by a buyer who lives in Lake Elsinore California and Lake Havasu Arizona. I dealt with him through text and phone calls. I live in Las Vegas and he asked if I could drop it off at his friends off road shop locally. I agreed. I drove there and brought the fuel cell. The owner of the store said he didn’t have any cash. He called the buyer and he agreed to pay me by mail. I have bought and sold many items and vehicles on Glamisdunes.com and Screenshot_20260118_115711_Gallery(3).jpgScreenshot_20260118_134627_Messages.jpg Race Dezert and have great success with good people. I felt I was dealing with an honest off road person. The buyer said he installed it in his Ford Bronco. For weeks I waited and texted and called. Still no payment. This the new perfect SCAM?

Thanks. I will look into doing that. I was also trying to shame him on another off road forum. I have never come across someone so blatantly dishonest. It is not a lot of money but it is the point. DONT screw with fellow off roaders. I am in it for the enjoyment and not in it for the business. To anyone I have dealt with in the past here and other websites thank you for being honest.

I hate scammers , but IDK if the shop is the one to be mad at . You mentioned he called the buyer and the buyer agreed to send you the funds . Seems it’s really not the off road shops deal .

I have no interest in either party just my 2 cents

Idk if the perfect new scam… Sounds like you’re dealing with a tweaker. What’s his info and the shop?

His name is Travis Bailey. He has a Ford Bronco. His buddy’s shop is in Las Vegas. I don’t think it’s the business fault that I was scammed. It’s not a lot of money but it’s the fact I lowered the price to give another enthusiast a good deal. So much for my effort!

No, I don't think the shop has any culpability. I was suggesting using pressure on the shop to get contact info for the guy. I didn't know you had his name. That changes things. What now?

It’s in the air…. I bought 2 tires off marketplace this weekend. I only checked 1 of the tires but it was what I wanted. A 35x10x17. Well the second tire happens to be a 35x10x15. My bad for being in a rush. Good news is I can actually use the tire. But the guy was being a douche and pretending that I switched the tires. I was able to find his home address and I’ll just happen to be in his area on Saturday. I’m currently deciding how “whole” I want to make myself feel. I hate when the Offroad community scams people.

Just go take your fuel cell back from the shop, its still yours.

"Orchids and Onions" in Lake Havasu City likely refers to the local awards for good and bad local businesses/services, and Travis Bailey is a known local figure associated with these awards, often recognizing positive contributions (orchids) and highlighting negative ones (onions) to promote better community standards, especially for businesses like hats or retail, as seen in past coverage and social media
.

  • What it is: A local community awards program, similar to "Good & Bad" lists, that shines a light on businesses and individuals in Lake Havasu, AZ, celebrating excellence ("Orchids") and critiquing poor service or quality ("Onions").
  • Travis Bailey's Role: He's a prominent local who has been involved in promoting and presenting these awards, often through social media and local discussions, aiming to improve local business ethics and offerings.
  • Examples: Past mentions link it to local shops, including hat retailers and other services, with Bailey often commenting on quality.
In short, it's a local "best & worst of" system, and Travis Bailey is a key person championing it in Lake Havasu.

How dare us commoners judge the judge!

Go to the shop and get your shit back.

Sucks that you have to deal with this over $50 but I think you will have better luck outing him on the local Havasu pages. Good luck.
