Car detailing question

Most of the newer tire shine stuff doesn't seem to affect tires.  Back in the day, yeah, problems since most of those were some sort of petroleum product that would rot the tires.

My Mexican neighbor who grew up in TJ and Rosarito said they used to use sugar water.

I use Armor All...BUT, I do it first thing after the car is done...then I continue drying and detailing...then go back and wipe it off so it doesn't fling all over the place and it takes some of the gloss off.

That drives me nuts.
