Looking for a quality campsite light. Something that when I’m cooking outside I can see what I’m doing and the kids can throw the football around. I like those see devil balloon lights but not sure I want to spend 300$ on it. Anyone have a recommendation?

Hopefully @RIDERED chimes in. He’s got a real cool one on his rig.  I never asked how much.

Milwaukee tower lights are awesome,  but expensive.

The tower lights are good for grilling or fixing a broken whatever but if your wanting to throw around a football or play cornhole, nothing is going to beat those see devil lights.  I have seen them used in construction for temp lighting and they are worth every penny

I love my see devil light - great for lighting up camp while working on multiple grills, used it to light up track while racing at night.  Expensive but the amount of laughs we've had racing around at night made it well worth it.  Watching grown men get ultra competitive racing each other on 50's at night is classic.

Seedevil 150 watt light is what I use as well one other in out camp.   After this last trip I suspect we will have a few more in camp next trip.

I use the light not only camping, but when I go r/c racing with my son.  Everyone at the track loves it because they can see what they are working on.

Damn… see devil it is. Now then is the 60w one enough or do I need the 500$ one?

I have the See Devil also. I made a boom off my ladder out of PVC pipe and a pulley at the top to hoist it up about 20 feet in the air.

We have a 60w in camp.  They are bright and well worth it. I just ordered one for myself, and i got a free 10w rechargeable one.  You wont regret it.

Can I add - we should have a no campsite light thread. There's always someone that leaves a bright as light on all night. Ruins the mood for me...would rather sit by a fire and look at stars than have some camps light in my side view.  I seem to always look at camps with a bright light in the middle but no one is outside, most lkely because they dont want it on to begin with :), except to cool guy that brought it.

Got to love those people as well as the ones who crank up the outside stereo speakers and then go inside the trailer on the other side of camp.

I humbly submit having a camp light for cooking, games, racing, working on vehicles, etc. is exceptional.

I too love to sit by the fire, relax and enjoy the stars, etc.  I love the night views and you lose that with massive camp light - time and place for everything.  If your camping so close to me that my camp light ruins your view while I'm cooking or working on my car - that's on you!

Agreed, but when it's 10pm and camp light bright is next to you it's annoying as hell. You don't need a camp light so bring to light up a whole campsite to work on something or cook...just like music, make it loud enough / bright enough to enjoy it yourself, not the whole campsite, otherwise you're being selfish and assume everyone wants to hear the same music or wants a light bright enough to light up an entire camp.

Agreed.  Last trip we had close neighbors who liked the big bright light in the middle of camp.  Not a big deal as we had a full circle and the had one as well and we only could tell how much light they had by the light bleeding over the top of the rigs.....

Until by chance the people on our east side and their west side of camp went home early and we now were by default inside their camp and enjoying the glow from the light.  They did shut it off at some point but it seemed like the light was right in our eyes as we sat around the fire.

I just bought the Seadevil 150watt and used it over thanksgiving. It comes with a remote so you can dim it down. Just goofing around I ran it with a Milwaukee 18V 5.0 battery with the small inverter https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200841328_200841328 and it ran for almost an hour at 50% brightness. I'll try the 12.0 battery next trip and see what the run time is.

Overall I think its a great camp light and with the dimmer you can get just the right amount of light you need. With the Milwaukee battery set up you could take it out in the dunes for any night repair or rescue missions.
