Building a new trailer. What are your must haves?

Well I probably should have started this thread sooner because I'm already in the middle of my build but I have time to add stuff. Building a 28' universal stacker. What would be your must haves? I think I covered all of my boxes but just seeing what everyone else recommends.

I have all the basics plus some extra goodies, loading winch, rear door winch, Not sure where I'm doing the spare tire yet. My old stacker had it in the floor only problem was my car was on top of it so if i needed to change it I would have to pull the car out. I may do a wall mount. Pre wiring for solar might be a good idea. it does have a generator compartment in the front and I always run a generator. Hydraulic jack is a good idea too, i think I have a standard electric jack at the moment. I did 2-70 gallon fuel stations with a hose reel in the front compartment. also did 100 gallons of water
 
Solar 100%
Even if it's only a 200W panel, you can always add panels but nice to have it already installed and wired and keep the onboard batteries charged etc.
 
In my next trailer I want to add 100 gallons of fresh water and at least a 50 gallon grey tank to drain the motorhome into the trailer for long trips.

hmmm I like the idea of having the grey tank to drain the motorhome into but that sounds like alot of work to do in the dunes and then I have to dump the trailer when i get home too lol
 
Assuming you already have an air compressor going in? My new trailer has a 25' fuel hose reel and 50' air hose real in the same box accessible from the outside / near front of trailer.

If you always like running a genny then solar is a non-issue, but with that said I had solar on my last trailer and loved it (never had to plug it in or worry about it) so I am in the process of adding all of that to my new to me trailer (keep in mind if you go this route you need an inverter etc

you putting in plenty of cabinets and a big tool box?

I will be moving my spare tire to be mounted hopefully underneath the very back of the trailer.

new trailer has a small sink in the work bench which drains straight under the trailer... definitely excited about this since I always need to wash my hand when loading / unloading / working on stuff and beats having to get the motorhome sinks dirty / waste grey tank capacity.

new trailer has 190 gallons of water which is overkill lol... only 60 gallons of fuel, but I would like to add another 40-50 gallon if possible.

escape doors are awesome to have
 
In my new build Intech stacker I had the spare tire wall mounted in the upper front mezzanine on the side wall. Also went with 4 rear metal caster wheels just incase you drag the back. Backup lights that come on when in reverse. Lower lights mounted inside on the side walls because when something is loaded on the lift it blocks a lot of light from the roof. Side marker lights that act as a blinker also. USB/120v combo outlet on the work bench to charge a phone and not lose an outlet. I’m sure there’s more. I had a lot of revisions before my trailer went to build stage. There always something tho.

one thing that always seems to be an afterthought is the spare tire. Mine was in a well under the car....... I learned early on that was the dumbest idea in the world........ now its right next to the door with the tire iron, & trailer ramp. IMO, the trailer ramp is the the best tool I bought for the trailer.

I have a Carson Racer and adding a water tank and a fuel station is on my to do list. The other mentioned of trap doors for a spare tire and tie down locker would be great to have.

If you add water, I've seen peel put sinks in and then drain them straight to the ground (legal, due to no storage system) That's a nice idea for cleaning up.

I do have E-track on the floor and it works out nicely. Front cabinets, electrical with some outlets front and rear. If you want any hangers for picnic tables, chair racks, whip holders, etc. Take your time and start a list.

I wouldn't go too crazy with solar. If you do, maybe just enough to keep the battery charged.

Yes, I'm doing the exact set up as you. Air compressor will be mounted on top mezzanine and plumbed down. I have a front compartment that will have a fuel hose reel and air hose reel right next to each other

I agree the solar is nice, my last trailer had a shit ton of solar (enough to run my motorhome) and it worked great. That said where I store it it will always be plugged in.

Doing a big upper and lower cabinet in front V with a tool box. I don't want to put in too many cabinets because I need the floor space

I like that idea for spare tire mount

I've had and been in a lot of trailers and stackers so I definitely had my punch list lol The back up lights in reverse is a good idea for sure. I did the lower lights on the inside also for when the lift is up and blocking the lights. I did the 120v system also and have outlets throughout the trailer
