Marilyn Chambers

On April 22, 1952 the late pornographic actress, exotic dancer, model, actress Marilyn Chambers was born Marilyn Ann Briggs in Providence, Rhode Island. She was known for her 1972 hardcore film debut, Behind the Green Door, and her 1980 pornographic film Insatiable. Although she was primarily known for her adult film work, she made a successful transition to mainstream projects and is remembered for her role of Rose in David Cronenberg’s Rabid (1977). Her other notable films include The Owl and the Pussycat (1970), Together (1971), The Resurrection of Eve (1973), Angel of H.E.A.T. (1983), My Therapist (1983), Imps* (1983), Party Girls (1989), Breakfast in Bed (1990), The Marilyn Diaries (1990), Bedtime Stories (1993), New York Nights (1994), Dark Chambers (2000), Little Shop of Erotica (2001), Stash (2007) and Solitaire (2008). Chambers passed away on April 12, 2009 at the age of 56 in Santa Clarita, California.
