Best place to camp In Glamis?

Favorite place when with friends and family is on the road to OLD's. When going for straight duning pleasure and hauling a$$, Gecko somewhere. 2.5, 3, 5, etc...
All the traffic and dust doesn't get to you on the OLD's road?

Been Wash 11 for the past several seasons. Why? We have no idea. Just where we ended up one weekend and liked it. There are small dunes between Wash 11 and 12 so the kids are able to ride by themselves without parental supervision. Wash road isn't bad at all since they re-did it a few seasons ago. We are a come out Friday, leave for home on Sunday kind of crew. Don't even waste our time driving out Gecko.

South end of Gecko. Pad 3/5, Roadrunner.

All are good and easy/quick access to the bigger dunes.

Going through the small stuff from the washes sucks.

All great feedback.  I always see the ballers on Pad 3 and 5 and I always wonder why they like that certain spot.  For me pad 4 is great when there isn't a lot of people. My camp crew now likes pad 1 for the ease in and out on gecko. I will not camp on vendors anymore because the dust just kills me. Roadrunner is great, but always hard to find a spot for 4 or 5 rigs.

My fav is Pad 4, but it is always full until after Presidents Weekend, then we can get a spot.  My other spot is a secret and will not divulge due to Poachers.

We used to do Keyhole for summer trips.  Big gravel and a weird slope.

Now that I have my 5th, I gotta slum it.  Neither my kids, my wingman or myself like it.

Miss our old spot.  4wd and air down.  Still an option for us but wife won't go without hauler.

I've never crashed your camp late at night drunk. Peace

The ballers just go in a straight line in front of pad 3 over and over again. Don’t use what they do as a metric. They are there to be seen.

I think it's pretty simple. You have a (BIG 8-CYL HUGE HP) Dune Buggy, your place is Gecko. Large Bowls, open up the engine, go to town. Real easy to read the terrain. Washes are tight technical hard to read dunes. BIG HP buggies always had a hard time with the slower technical Dunes in the washes. Us Quad guys never liked Gecko area cause it's wide open straight forward Dunes. If you want to dance thru the dunes, start in the washes. Peace

Seen it first hand! I was there a few seasons ago wrenching on a client's car and when his group came back to camp he was directing them on where to park the cars, pointed in a certain direction, etc. It wasn't for ease of leaving camp fornthe next 'dune' run. It was so they looked the best while parked in camp.

Sand Hwy Mafia forever ese.

In the old days we camped across the road from the store where the storage area is now. Have camped in all the different locations around the dunes. Wash 10-12 has been our go to for quite a few years now.
