BBQ for the RV.

I use a Weber Q for the Moho and the boat. I like them. Only issue I've had is some of the holes in the propane tube can get clogged with grease every so often. I few minutes with a toothpick and good to go. I spent a lot more money on a Magma for my boat and it sucked. It would blow out constantly if there was any wind. I replaced it with the Q and threw the damn Magma away.

My Magma was stolen out of the locked dock box. I miss that BBQ for boating.

Thanks for all the replies.  Having some analysis paralysis.

I have the fold up Coleman.  Works well enough that I ditched the home unit as well (I have a smoker as well). Just get an adapter for regular propane tanks, 1lb bottles bring the suck.

We got a pizza stone for it as well, makes great pizzas.

That Blackstone "On the Go" combo unit is a BEAST...look how small the lady looks LOL

Agreed. Bad ass but too much for what we need and want to pull out and put away.

Keep it simple or you will find ways not to use it.  I would ask yourself these questions:

- How many people do you cook for camping?

- What do you like to cook/eat camping?  Breakfast and dinner?

- How much space do you want to devote for storage?

For example, I still cook for 5 people camping, those combo grills are far too small, they are good for 2 people, maybe 3 max.  I also love to cook a good breakfast, with a griddle I can cook 2lbs of bacon in one shot, throw some eggs or pancakes on it as well..........zero dishes when done.  Cover griddle and go for a ride.  The days of us doing big pieces of meat in the desert don't happen anymore for us, I'd rather keep it simple nowadays.  The entire family loves a good bowl of friend rice with Spam for dinner, easy and filling (good leftovers in the morning with a fried egg).  For Carne Asada and Philly Cheesesteak, I slice the meat (or buy) at home, throw into a zip lock and cook it that way, super easy.  Then grill up some onions, peppers as well. Again, no dishes camping, use much less water as well.

If you do still like to cook steaks, chicken, ribs in the dunes, then you will need a Barbeque IMHO, the griddle is doable but not my fav.  At home, I no longer even have a gas grill, green egg and big griddle are my go to's.  Charcoal for barbeques are hard to beat.

Good luck..............I went thru this self-realization project three years ago.

Jokes on the thieves unless they were wanting it as an anchor. I've had two Magmas and both were POS! I can buy 5 of the Weber Q's for the price of the Magma I bought and threw away.

We all laugh as we seem to eat better in the dunes than at home.  Love a good Rib eye, chicken, brats, burgers, etc.  BBQ is my go to out there. We usually dont cook breakfast and if need be some Jimmy Dean frozen breakfast things fit the bill.

Compact, propane tank version not the green bottle and big enough for 4 steaks and some wrapped potatoes.  But still manageable and stow able.

Another vote for the Weber Q. I bought mine for camping but ended up using it at home too. Surface is big enough to cook for a few people.

o-grill, cooks even and wind doesn’t effect it much. They make a nice case for it and it doesn’t take up much room.

Ok, Ive just thrown away my Nextgrill Costco BBQ. Its been a decent grill for 5 years but is just worn out. Warped and rusty.  I'm Looking for portable and fitment into the 5th wheel storage bay.    I am used to setting up a table and putting the grill on that to use.  I see others with their own stands and small side trays.  Curious how they hold up to the sand and storage.

Whats the grill to get? What fits 4 decent steaks and a few taters? What the go to grill today?

Cleaning and prepping here and there for this up coming season.

Saw this little Coleman and got me thinking about this style.
those colemans are a pile o crap.

looking around on the interwebz this one looks like a possibility to me https://www.costco.com/nexgrill-cast-aluminum-table-top-gas-bbq.product.100519906.html

ive been using charcoal/wood to cook my steaks for a while now.   for campin i do still have an old olympian 4100 propane grill that works well, but it isnt very big. its cast aluminum top and bottom so holds heat very well with a cast iron heat plate above the burner as well. im considering getting a pk grill for camping. https://www.pkgrills.com/pkgo-w-flipkit/

heat retention is key to a grill. the more mass to hold heat the better it cooks overall. the thin sheetmetal grills just dont cook well and use a ton of propane to get the job done.

This costco Nexgrill aluminum bbq looks great. Like the two burner option and the price $149.99 is hard to beat.  Also has a standard propane tank hose connection
