ATC70 CDI conversion?

I think my points went out on my '82. I got no spark.
What's the deal with the CDI conversions? I don't recall hearing about them til just recently. Just a bolt on and go? Reliable?
I see $35 kits on up....
Please educmacate me.

I bought my 70 about a year ago and it already had CDI. Good reliable spark. No problems.
 
They are great - TEE has them on his bikes and swears by them. Go on the 70 fourm on FB that @Stugots moderates - there is a guy who sells them....You need to get the correct one If I recall -
