State Farm is trying to jack me on my loss. Offer on the Polaris is $25k, waiting on the WW. Not reasonable with how much I had into the toy IMO.

Thanks,

abc

Well you can pay a lawyer $10k and insurance might give you a couple grand more.....

I'm currently 'having a disagreement' with IRS and my lawyer ate up $16k in a couple conference calls and faxes......

ol @King Tim helped me on a couple claims i have had in the past.  The deal is to do all the research and basically do their job for them and you will have a happy ending.  Find all the comps old and new in your area and flood them with info.

Screw the trail claim, Hearing you talk about the major tragedy has caused mental distress and you may never be able to sleep in a trailer again.  This is a major life changing fire, and you need emotional support and mental health treatment for the rest of your life!!!

Wink, wink............

I am not a lawyer, but I play one on GD.COM!!

i would find 3 compliable machines and send them to your adjuster explaining the add on mods made your machine more valuable than what they have offered also look at your policy to see if  it covers accessories  and go from there. if you don't get anywhere maybe hire a public adjuster or contact a lawyer

Find out what the policy covers.... how much of the aftermarket stuff, is there a limit?  Ask them about if they have an appraisal clause in the policy? You hire one, they hire one, you split the mediation costs....find comparable vehicles. Ask for their appraisal.  Where did they get it? is it comps or dealer quotes.

It makes no difference what you think it may be worth. All of the accessories and crap people put on their sxs don't really change the fact that it's a sxs and it has a published value. Unless your policy declarations state that your accessories are covered also, you may be just wasting your energy. Take what they offer you and walk away.

My policy will only cover 5k in accessories. My old one was only 1k. You must check what yours says.

I own a decent sized personal and commercial insurance agency and unfortunately I do deal with these problems on a regular basis with my clients. Ask your agent for help. Take the time to read your entire insurance policy, many policies have like kind, and condition verbiage. If you have an insurance adjuster that is difficult to work with, there are third-party professional adjusters you can hire that will be paid a percentage of the claim. I would advise you not to hire an attorney for property damage claim. My experience if you show the adjuster comparables with documentation of comparable value it can go along ways. Don’t use used units from FB, but used ones from a dealer that would include used retail price plus taxes.

If you need to as a last resort, you can drop the mention that your insurance adjuster is acting in bad faith. That will scare them much more than the threat of getting an attorney and if they can’t make you whole within the policy verbiage, you can make a complaint to the insurance department for bad faith.

Good luck my friend, that’s a horrible situation.

Bummed you have to deal with all this ABC. You're alive! Be thankful. Try and rest your brain! Peace

As said above, go get some comps with like kind sxs and trailers. Then also involve your agent. Money for an attorney will be good money out the window as State Farm has a slate of attorneys on retainer just for these situations.

We owned a collision repair shop and witnessed this every week. You will get farther with your claim if attorneys aren't involved. One thing, once an attorney is on it you are out and insurance company will not talk to you about this.

This! Many times, aftermarket chit isn't covered unless you specifically added the coverage for it. Also keep in mind you don't have to accept their 1st offer. Been there done that.

Did you have all aftermarket accessories insured on your policy? Most policies come with 1-3k in aftermarket equipment coverage included. Anything greater, you need to specify and pay an additional premium for It.

This is great advice, I'd simply find a few comparable stock machines get the value and then find out what my policy covers in aftermarket add ons. You will obviously max that portion out as your machines are set up. I find using industry terminology as recommended above will get attention quicker than anything else. My son had a medical insurance coverage issue, wasn't getting much accomplished till someone in the field recommended I mention an "ombudsman" it was resolved immediately after that.
