Any Starlink users?

I have used my friend's Starlink when in Glamis.  It was so nice service for those long trips.   I am probably going to get one before Glamis season.

Pretty sweet launch video, direct GEO insertion. Competitor to Starlink. Terabit class satellite.

Not going to get you low latency zoom calls though.

I haven't put SL on my Moho yet but I plan too. I did put it on my boat I keep up in Alaska and it is awesome. I went with the in motion antenna. Even cruising at 30 knots I was getting 200 mbps download. I plan to install the same set-up on my Moho next. And given you can suspend your subscription I will only need to activate one system at any given time.

I have one, the RV model or roaming as starlink labels it.  Good service and convenient when no other signal is available.  I do believe they have stopped the ability to change your home model to roaming but I may be wrong.

We have the RV version. Wife works from home and remote when we travel. At times I have used it at home with no loss in service. Zoom calls/meetings with no problem, all while using shared PowerPoint and data heavy programs. We don't notice a difference from Starlink to our home Cox internet service. Plus when we go to the dunes, we can take care of work without worrying about how bad the cell tower is.  Win Win!

We're trying to purchase the SL roam and it won't let us purchase is anyone else having this problem

I heard there could be a waiting list for certain areas. But I don't know why. I thought the wait was because there wasn't coverage in all areas???

But if I took the Starlink dish on an RV trip, all the Wifi stuff at the house would shutdown, until I brought it back. Correct?
You can port the old Cox phone number to a cell, or even a forwarding service that goes to an existing cell. I still keep my Spectrum internet service at home, using starlink as a fallback when at home, and then my main access when away, with cell being the fall back. It works great, is worth the money, but does still have slowdowns in "busy" areas. There is only one ground station serving the glamis area, so Im sure it will get bogged down as more roadrunner estate folks catch on. ;)

They still limit the number of users in geo areas, even with the roam feature. If you have a vacation home, or address outside of most urban areas, you can use that as the order address and most likely will be able to get going right away. You can then change your billing address back to your main home. Starlink did this because folks in those black out areas were ordering the RV (roam) service, but never leaving the urban area. This is also why roam can be limited/throttled when used in urban areas.

Can anybody confirm that these flat "Star Mount" enclosures work well?  I know the stock dish moves itself to aim, so not sure what you give up by having a fixed flat mount. I assume there must be a reason they went through the trouble to make the auto aiming base for the dish.

I went on their web site and looking at the coverage map, zoomed in, my house (Fountain Valley) was in a 'Low' signal zone.

Bummer but I am still interested in one for the RV

X2 on this. Im ordering one and I’d like to mount it to my Moho roof with one of the flat mounts. Curious on how well or not well it does.

I make the plastic enclosures for this guy  STAR-MOUNT Systems: Mounting Solutions for Starlink Satellite Internet – Star Mount Systems

And all I can say is,  We cant keep up!  Yes,  they work well in most areas.  We are also getting ready to make a fully self contained battery powered version for another guy. He mainly markets to the fishing community. A Salt Weapon - Mike Lee (@a_salt_weapon_marine) • Instagram photos and videos
