So, I am tired of paying for internet at my house and my office and not having it while traveling in the RV. I don't think I can get rid of the internet at the house as too many things are tied into it. But my office is $300/month and I am not there very often. We also camp at Campland (San Diego) for 6 months a year. The internet is horrible there. We are planning on dong more RV travel in the next few years too, I don't really need internet at the desert/river but I guess it couldn't hurt to have.

I admittedly don't know much about Starlink (although I do know they just raised prices). Does anyone here use Starlink? Are the speeds good? Is it easy enough to take back and forth to differnt locations (office/RV/??). Any real life input is appreciated.

one of the guys in our group has it & I guess there was some trick to maximizing it.  get the mobile one & use it @ home or get the home one & use it will in your RV, I never really got the whole scoop.

you cant have a home base unit and travel with it.  You can get a rv one(Roam) $150 but your second tit when in towns where home units are in use. They do have a Mobility plan that can be used while rv in motion $250  and now they have a Business plan $250 but im not sure if you can travel with that one.   You can turn them on or off a month at a time but make sure you time it right or you will be paying for that next month, you have to toggle it off 2 weeks before the end of the current month.

We run one in the washes, on a holiday weekend speeds are about 50-100mbps, Depending on the time of day. I looked out my window and could count 8 other starlinks one weekend, so can imaginehow many are out there. Better than a hot spot and enough to run teams/ zooms and stream movies etc.

Do you use is anywhere else? Like I mentioned, I would like to move it from my office/RV/?? how easy is it to relocate?

I have the rv version,  comes with a long  cord. Once I take my trailer to the river in a few weeks I'll try and find a spot to semi permanently mount it. Currently I put it on my roof and route through cable underneath my slide out. I put it up and down every trip, not bad, but I guess it depends where you put it at your office. I've seen people just set them in the sand, but I'd be afraid of one of the kids hitting it or it growing legs.

Like mentioned above your service might be limited in area the home units are in use.i would reach out to them and see what they say.

I use my RV version everywhere I go. Mexico, Houseboat, Glamis, Camping in the mountains. It's amazing, and FAST! Best part is you can turn it on and off by the month if you don't need it. GAME CHANGER!

Do you have multiple routers and or cables and just take the dish? Or do you pack up everything each time? If the router and "stuff" isn't that expensive, it might be worth it to have everything setup at the office and another setup in the RV, then just grab the dish and go??

I only use it in the RV and Houseboat. I got their travel case and just keep everything in there so its a grab and go. No sure if you can have two different routers on same account? I know you can get cables easily.

I have Starlink at my house in Rural Fallbrook. I have the portability option on my plan and take it everywhere we travel in the RV. I bought an extra cable to use in the Rv  so all I have to bring is the dish and modem. Setup takes less than 5 min. My last trip to G I was staying in the washes and averaged 250 mb/s.

Also… no need to route the cable inside the coach. I keep my modem in the storage compartment and don’t loose any speed or signal.

Same

I have it in el Segundo and it’s better than our previous internet provider. I also work at starlink so I’m a bit biased, but I definitely recommend it

Starlink rocks.

We use it at the dunes, at our house, camping in the forest.

Get the RV version and take it everywhere.

It is sounding like a great deal. we can't replace the internet (cox) at our house because too many wifi items are tied into it (doorbell/cameras/HVAC/appliancies). I also have Cox Business at my office, I have downsized and I am the last person there. But Cox does our phone service too, as part of the "bundle". I don't get very many calls (non-spam) on the land line so I might just ditch that too.

I don't think your Internet provider will affect all of those items as they all should be linked to a central server.

But if I took the Starlink dish on an RV trip, all the Wifi stuff at the house would shutdown, until I brought it back. Correct?
