Any lemon law atty's here?

Bought a new Ford 6.0 when they came out. It blew a radiator hose with like 500 miles on it. First service work on it. Had little problems here and there. Always took it to the dealer. When these came out the dealer didn't have but one mechanic qualified to work on the diesels. So it would take at least 3 weeks before I would get it back. When they had the two recalls on them they took away a bunch of power and the check engine light would always come on.  California started the diesel smog and when the waranty was almost out I would tow my Samurai to the dealer unhook and go home. After returning it to them every two days after getting it back. The service manager told me to call ford and ask to lemon it. Ford wouldn't even talk, so I got a hold of a lemon law lawyer and sent him the records on it. He called and said no problem. Three weeks later he called and said they will pay the full purchase price, plus insurance and registration since new. This truck was almost 5 years old but only had 48000 miles on it. They wouldn't buy the lift kit and 39" tires though. I told no problem ,still had all the original parts. Put it back to stock, returned it to the dealer where I bought it and they had a check for me. Only took about a month.

My 6.0 had 92k miles on it, and I got back every penny.  The Service Writer recommended the lemon law attorney that I used.  I think I paid around $40k brand new for a  F250 4x4 6.0 CC in 2005.  I got back about $45k, went over to Bobby Williams and ordered a 2009 6.4 4x4 CC Dualie for $50K.  Old truck was paid for, so for an extra $5k i Upgraded to a newer truck, worked out well.

Were you then able to get the 6.4 Lemon Law'd too?

I had numerous EGR cooler replacements, dropped an injector (new engine), and plenty of other Emission issues.  I was towed home with my 5th wheel three times.

I had zero issues with it, but I sold it with 36k miles on it. The guy I sold it to, had zero issues as well and he sold it at nearly 100k miles.  Truck ran great.

That sucks, I know I was fortunate with mine. In fact so fortunate, I'm still driving it 17 years later

Update, the truck is officially gone, dropped it off Tuesday and picked up a check for $18K. I lost about 1 years worth of payments all told, but don't have to worry about all the quality issues with it anymore.

Glad it worked out for you guys, I know you just wanted a working truck...but now you get to go buy one.

If you buy another Ford, I'm gonna kick you in the head  LOL. :headslap:

Our 2018 Honda Van has been at the dealer 71 days as of today, they have no information on when the New Transmission will arrive. It's covered under the extended Honda warranty we bought at time of purchase. They gave us a New HR-V Sub Compact SUV that we have, it runs like it should....but its small. The Trans issue we had was the Electrical System Reboot, caused the trans to shift to park while moving. Thank God we were just in a parking lot going about 5 mph.

My family of 6 can't travel in a single vehicle together anymore.

Access for my disabled daughter is really tough, getting in and out, her medical equipment, wheelchair, etc.

No Charges or fees have been paid, they gave us a car to use but its not an equivalent.

The only items I have added are rear airbags and a hitch / correct trailer harness.

I'm really wondering if it's time to consider Lemon Law...how long is too long to put up with having your car sit at the dealer.

70 plus days already.

I don't believe you can Lemon Law a car out of factory warranty.

Extended warranties are typically insurance policies at their core.  They are not a true extension of the factory warranty.  They are purchased at the time of financing just like GAP insurance.  If it's Honda Care, when I was still wrenching, it was the best one out for the consumer.  You could only buy it at the dealer, and the repairs had to be done at the dealer.  But, they would/could still deny claims.  FWIW, they are called 'extended warranty claims", just like insurance.

Find the customer service number for your contract and ask..

At any rate, I would call and complain about the vehicle they gave you as a loaner.  It's not comparable to what you have.

Right now that doesn't matter as dealers are short of vehicles.

My truck was in for service and they dropped something on my fender! WTF????

I saw it when I got home and I had only driven back to work and then home where it sat in the driveway.

:explode:

I called them on it and they said they would check the cameras and see if the dent was there when I brought it in!

Well, Sure as SH*T...My truck was clean and no dent! I guess the cameras showed the dent when leaving, so it happened when it was with them.

they said bring it in at your convenience, so today I dropped it off.

I have a rental from hertz because Chevrolet has no loaner vehicles. They gave me some little Nissan that looks like a blue M&M, but I'll take it.

I told the guy this morning that it's pretty shitty that the tech didn't say something off the bat! Accidents happen and I get that, but to just think I won't notice a ding the size of a quarter that also creased the fender..COME ON!!!!

EFFF

Your situations are totally different.  The Warranty company is paying for his rental.  Not the dealer eating it (or giving you a demo lot car) because one of their guys dropped something on your truck.  If you would've made a bit enough deal of it, they probably would've given you a full size truck.  When my truck got rear-ended, I got a crew cab truck loaner.  Granted, it wasn't a 2500 4x4 diesel, but it was comparable.

He needs 6 seats.  A HR-Z doesn't seat 6.

Minivans, full size vans, and trucks are not the "got to's" for most renters.  Rental companies have those.  I've been offered full size trucks, when mid-sized SUV I reserved wasn't available, a few times.

guy at work had a hyundai bought new for his daughter to drive to college in colorado so she would have no issues.

trans went out, took over 6 months to get a new trans. sat in their yard all that time with her full coffee cup in there simmering lol. maggots in the cup and smelled like death lol.

she gets 200 miles down the road and bam trans lets go again! they blamed her for removing the drain plug that was on the crossmember. her dad said hell she can't barely pump gas you really think she pulled the drain plug? you guys did an oil change also while it was in there.

waited another 2 months for a new trans, he hired a shipper to pick it up from dealership, brought it back to okla. drove it to carmax and sold it same day lol.

Bunch of d1cks at the dealership.  No integrity at all.  My local mechanic's staff effed up the hood on My S2000.  They called me and told me what they had done, ordered a new one and installed it.  Then they washed the car and had it detailed before telling me to come pick it up . . .

exactly. a buddy bought an extended warranty and his trans went out they called him and said we have it ready to go, and he said man that was quick for a rebuild. no sir your warranty pays for a salvage/used trans only. he read the policy and yep that's what it ssaid, so he got one from a wreck at a salvage.
