The pre filters are great, if doing the aquastar filter you should have plenty of room to add itNow this looks like a great idea, just like a Donaldson or S&B particle Seperator for our offroad toys. One concern would be flow and pressure raised due to the extra restriction it adds. Would it put a strain on the variable speed pump?
The draw back on an existing pool with traditional filter is footprint to add the pre filter, they’re big and tend to sit high.
On new pools can adjust equipment lay out to accommodate.
Variable speed is perfect any pool and filter situation, since you can adjust flow to what ever needed. But both pre filters and aquastar can handle higher flow than traditional cart and de filters anyway.
