I have an aluminum fuel tank from my sand car that I want to put some additional fittings in. Two AN fittings, one outlet and one return. Plus two more NPT fittings.
I’ve called around and found one place that will do it but almost the same cost as a new tank , $650.
Seems like way too much for 4 fittings. But others that I’ve called won’t even weld on a gas tank.
One guy suggested using fitting plates and then attaching them to the tank with screws and a rubber gasket.
Any one know of someone that can add fittings to a gas tank fairly inexpensively?
Or any other ideas?

Sausage is definitely the guy he has help me a bunch of times.

If not I have another friend that can do it he is in Ramona if that's not to far for you

Had a guy help me with crack on my aluminum tank told me to run the exhaust from my Tacoma for 10-15mins, I guess all the emissions burn off all the combustibles. He welded up the crack with no fireworks to speak of.

I charge anywhere from $350 to $650 depending on owner prep,
I ask them to wash the tank out,
and the way i wash it, is to take a gallon of simple green and pour it in the tank with water and let it sit for 3-4 days and then wash again with simple green and sit for an additional 2 days,
when they show up with the tank i hand them the butane torch and tell them to stick it inside and pull the trigger, if they do not i know they did not clean it good enough to weld,

If it ready to weld and fully washed out then around $350, if i am cleaning the tank and doing all the prep work it can be over $600.

Welding tanks is very dangerous and needs to be prepped correctly
