Not a tire shop story.
A couple of months ago I got my oil changed at one of the local places. I usually watch them because their just young kids going through the motions and I don't want them to forget something. This time instead of watching I ran across the street to CVS to pick something up. I come back and the young punk kid tells me I have a really bad leak in both the motor and trans. I tell him I have never had a spot of oil on the driveway so you must have done something. He gives me attitude and says "well it does". The guy bellow in the pit yells to "him just note it on the paperwork". So I drive it home and I start smelling burnt oil. Get in my driveway and pop the hood and notice that the top of the motor has been wiped down and its shiny clean from oil. I look down at the A arms and they have oil all over them along with it dripping on my driveway. I'm pissed!! I go back to the place and talk to the manager and explain to him what's going on. He says "we will take care of it". As he's telling me this I'm looking at the young punk and he won't even look my way. So another guy comes over to me and says that the guy was filling the engine with oil and looked the other way and shot a couple of quarts all over the place and tried to clean it up. I was even more pissed now. I told the manager that he told me I had leaks in both the engine and trans instead of just telling the truth. I would have said accidents happen just clean it. I walked past the young punk and said of course I have a oil leaks when you spray two quarts of oil all over. Luckily there was a detail shop next door so they ended up cleaning everything. I never got one apology from that punk kid and I still don't have a drop of oil on my driveway.
