Is the a real difference in diameter? I understand more splines is more surface area. And if they have added splines doesn't that make the star thinner? I also know some axles taper so that the axle is smaller than the spline area. Is this the case with 35 spline?

I'm trying to decide if I need the bigger set up. My car is 3200# maybe 800 wheel and 35.5 tire, midboard hub

Thanks Jeff

are you currently having axle or CV issues w/ the 33 splines?

35 is supposed to be stronger... had a friend that was going through CV's w/ 33 splines, he has swapped to 35 spline and so far so good after about 1 season. But this is through a 2 seat TRX w/ close to 2k HP and someone who runs it very hard.

Its a new build . Thanks for the input

Yes, 35 spline is a slightly larger pitch diameter and OD. Yes, cv star gets ever so slightly thinner (have yet to see or hear this being an issue).

If its a new build go 35 spline and be done.

The biggest downside is spares. It is easier to find a 33 spline 934 cv when you are in glamis.

Yep. CV is natively 33spl. A 35spl 934 is machined to accommodate a 35spl axle, and not all manufacturers are equal when it comes to approach.

For new build definitely go 35 spline up front. Just make sure to carry a spare CV and maybe 1 axle as they are harder to find when you’re in a pinch for time. Hopefully you’ll never need the spares but nice to have.

Info on said build?
Start a thread....we all love reading about sandcar builds.
Yeah I agree Jeff. Get some pics up on how that build is going. Been a minute since seeing it in your garage.
