Better than expected, I have been paying out of my arse for the last couple of years. The Big Beautiful Bill saved me money in comparison to the last previous years, especially for us Californians (SALT tax).

Remind your Liberal friends when they go to the voting booth.

I don't think most liberals can connect the dots.

Did ok here also, paid less than feared. Same with guys i work with, lots of overtime was worked last year and that seemed to help them.

I saw a slight positive bump for '25.

It amazes me how many people over pay intentionally so that they get a big refund every year. I shoot for zero owed or returned and am close to that mark every year.

My youngest daughter hit the jackpot with the BBB and having a baby during '25.

Usually break about even between fed and state. Was up this year.

Mailing off my Fed payment today. I always wait until 4/15 for that, LOL.

We did OK. made more money than I had anticipated, so ended up paying Fed & getting back on state but the delta was close enough to zero, no biggie. Made 401K contribution change for 2026.

Big beautiful bill helped me get a refund this year. I don't think I've had a refund in the last 5+ years.

I did great again this year, as always. However... this is year 5 that I don't have my Condo to use to my advantage. Eh... not having shitty tenants that destroy the place is a fair trade off. Every tenant I had was beyond disrespectful so I'm a happy guy these days.

Did well. I've found enough loopholes and write offs, along with adjusting my exemptions to where I pay as little as I can and get back as little as possible, meaning...I didn't let the government use my money for an interest free loan. I also live in a state that doesn't tax my retirement and offered other Veteran tax benefits.

Did better than last year...My wife and I always owe, DINK's (Dual Income No Kids)
We both claim Married/0
I set aside myself for what we owe...we usually get back from the state and that helps pay what we owe to the Fed's!
Now people say just have the Gubment take more out so you get some back at the end???
Why? So they can mismanage my money all year!
Eff That!!!!!
I save extra and if I need it, I have it!
If I could claim 9 dependents and not pay anything all year then just write them a check at the end, I would!
But Uncle Sam wouldn't like that neither!

Not sure if you can do this in CA or not, but you can in AZ.

I don't claim a state of residence on my retirement or job. What I do, is get a tax bill at the end of the year and then do tax credits. I select where my "tax dollars" go and then turn in my credits. This way my taxes don't go to a general fund and support stuff I don't support. I fund Veteran programs and high school field trips and keep my tax dollars here locally.

Something to look into.
