So I've had this truck since 2018. Ordered it and delivered to me. Took it to Industrial Motoring after @dbart had posted about them with good reviews. They took the stock truck and gave it a 4-6 inch lift with Cognito suspension parts, air bags, wheels and amp steps.
Been a great combo.
Truck has 67k miles on it now and still in exceptional condition. It needed new upper control arm ball joints so off it went back to Industrial Motoring.
Went over the wear n tear and the squeaks it had and decided to do some upgrades again.
I was torn on ordering a new truck or spending some money on this one. Choice was made and threw a few bucks at her.

Kryptonite offers life time warranty on their products and dollar to dollar it made sense to just install their upper control arm over rebuilding the Cognito.
Kryptonite also had a complete steering kit and we agreed to just swap all that out while we were there.
I wanted the leaf springs redone as I've towed a lot with this truck. We found that Dever has a soft ride spring kit available for these trucks. It's 8 thinner softer springs that equal the 4 thick stock leaf springs. All plus the big overload bottom spring. They guaranteed a softer ride with the same load capacity. So I said yes to that as well.

The amp steps had sand and stuff in the motors. They got cleaned and worked well. The patina though bothered me so I said screw it, throw a new set on.

All in all I'm happy with the $$ love the truck received. I am blown away at the ride of the truck with the new rear leaf springs. Game changer.PXL_20260522_182257892.jpgPXL_20260522_182310247.jpgPXL_20260522_182325515.jpgPXL_20260522_182332331.jpg

Awesome, good job

I do find it strange that Ball Joints are already bad, 67K miles?

Partially my fault and What I think was a bad design by Cognito. Their new ball joints is better.

I should have greased it more often, but I shouldn't of had to grease it that often.........

What is the black tank underneath the passenger door area ? You would think they could have found a better place to mount it.

Greaseless Monkey then?

My son did the full Krypto Upper Arm and steering kit last year, loves it. Weakest link on HD IFS Chevy's, money well spent as we got tired of replacing parts too.

Interested in that Deaver Leaf kit, he may want to go that route as well...and really doesn't tow much except girls to Stagecoach hah! Everyone complains about the back seat bounce down the hwy.

No better feeling than sinking some dough on an old truck to make her look new again, eff new truck prices and payments!!

Thats the tank for the DEF
Yep, @Hondajimz in 2020 the engineers got smart and put it near the fuel cell tucked under the bed!
When I had my 2018 that was one of the things that was like WTF were they thinking especial on the Z71 "Off Road" Edition.
Seriously...not that I used my truck Off road, but what a horrible placement of that god awful useless piece of equipment!
DEF SUCKS!!!
