Engine is back from the builder. New top end with all NOS Honda components.  Mild port work, o-ringed head, port matched Vforce 3 reeds, Hinson clutch basket/ clutch with "blue" springs, BDT extended clutch arm, new water pump impeller/ gaskets & 2001 CR ignition.

Tonights job just so happens to be a 85-86 atc250r pipe. I’ve had the 3 wheel itch since i picked up a 86 atc250sx a few months ago

Made a few changes while getting around to final assembly. Switched to an old school mesh number plate. Added a set of tie down brackets since I can't use Flexx bars as a mounting point anymore.

A few new upgrades.  With what OE plastics & seats are going for I decided to put mine on mothballs. Picked up a spare seat base & foam about a year ago. Bought a Fourwerx seat cover to try out. Used set of Maiers off CL for $50. Gonna figure out a way to secure the seat with a lock and the new rear latch system. Also, my Selvey pipe sat a little too close to the rear brake reservoir so upgraded to a Nelson aluminum.

Here is some progress from the last few days.

Decided to run a PJ so freshly rebuilt with 150 main & 50 slow to start the tuning. Mounted the killswitch. Fresh Sunstar steel sprockets (13/39) and a x-ring DID chain. Hit the pipe with some scotchbrite & WD40. Painted the rear hubs back to gold.

Great weekend in Glamis with @wapawekka.  Took the new build out for a shakedown and learned a lot. Bike runs way too rich due to lack of airflow. Air box lid has to go and possibly the 34mm PJ. Gonna look for a 36mm or 38mm PJ. To run with the stock box (possibly aluminum replacement). Bike runs ready strong once it leans out.

New radiator hoses rub a little on the gas tank. The kickstarter hangs up on the new pegs and releases suddenly into your shin if you aren't careful. I like the Fourwerx seat but need to learn to shift my weight differently instead of just sliding on the vinyl seat.20230122_090844.jpg

I cut my teeth on one of these.. we had 2 when I was 17 years old.. plus a 200x, 185s and a 110.. .GO HONDA!! 2-Stroke tore your hands off the bars...
