This thread ran before the crash for over 2 years. I had enough people tell me they were enjoying it so I am reposting. All the dialogue is gone so feel free to ask any questions. Here are all of the photos from the original thread. To tired and busy to give much detail or rehash all of it. Morrison chassis and a lot of parts powder coated with Prismatic misty root beer. 9" rear end. Late model direct injected L83 5.3 with a custom ground cam. Paint and body alone were 450 hours of labor. Total man hours right now probably at 1500-2000. We are approx. 75 percent done and total hours will go way north of that. Now we have a lot to do and trying to get it to upholstery by July 1. He will have it for two months. I will be happy to have a break from this thing. Best part is all the time I am getting to spend with my dad building this car. Here are the original pics from the thread.  Set 1.  Set 2.

Rear bumpers installed with leather cushions. Only the best. Stock car only has two tail lights.

The frame and lots of parts you don't see are misty rootbeer. The side louver cove pieces are the only exterior parts done in root beer. I think it is cool. We had to have these powdered a second time to make them look better. Looks black in the photo but it is root beer.

Hand made shims to drop the electric steering column down.

Hand made wood fixture and turnbuckle setup to push the guage cluster back for installation. 5 bolts come from underneath.

Leather dash from Al Knock is thicker and installation is beyond a pain. Couple of days work to slowly fit the dash, cluster, and grab bar to this point. You go to far and ruin it. Have to creep on it. Almost ready to start gluing the leather down in the channel before window installation. First we need the grab bar trim pieces back from chrome to get it adjusted. Old and new parts combined are a challenge.

Convertible tops are fun! Forgot to mention the car is close to being wired. I spent at least two weeks under the dash. A few wires left and ready to be done with that. I don't enjoy wiring.  Now we are having issues with the Dakota digital dash working intermittently and need to tear that back apart.

Pretty happy with the headlight bezels and trim fitment. Body guys did a lot of work to make the transition smooth. Left side on but broke a stud on the right side. Need to weld that back on without damaging the trim. :classic_blink: Chrome caps are supposed to be swedged onto the bezel but I think we will silicone them. Then I can make them dead straight.

Time to start on the doors as well. All new felt and rubber throughout. Also finally chased down the electrical gremlin for the digital dash. There were a couple wires in one of the harnesses cut off and not used. It was a shielded cable with some wire exposed from the wrap around shielding. We had not put shrink wrap over those 2 wires and I think it was intermittently grounding out. Glad to have that fixed. Still need to run wires for the AC Compressor and hood ram.

We pre glued portions of the windshield rubber on different days. Prepping for the difficult assembly.

Extreme difficulty installing the aftermarket dash is an understatement.  Can't pull the right side in due to the fiberglass flexing on the back side. So I built a curved .250 thick backing plate. Add some studs with long nuts and hoping we can suck it in. I have two holes opened up inside the dash but need to remove the dash AC to try grind out the other one. Those long nuts need to be be able to suck all the way through. Hopefully try get this to work tomorrow. Then try stuff the grab bar ends into the chrome bezels. Not sure how we are going to get it to fit. PITA
