13.5 Back In The Day?

Well I have camped in the washes.. I just didn’t know they had .5’s attached.. lol
It was just a way of saying head to the center of the wash and you should be able to see a portion of the camp.
There were weekends where you had the main camp that was pretty big and could have area's that were 2-3 trailers deep, then you would have sub-circles off that group that were pretty large groups themselves. One particular Thanksgiving the camp ended up with a semi-circle up against the baby dunes and nobody wanted to close it off, so we had two rows of campers who went to almost Wash Road where there were two circles. yes, it looked like a giant prick from above.

All through the 2000s, until the Compound started ~07 or 08. Some massive TGs out there with 200+ people... 10+ tables end to end covered in the biggest potluck you've ever seen. People from Louisiana, Missouri, TX, Michigan, everywhere. My boys were well into elementary school before they ever had a "normal" TG watching foosball at home and eating off the fine china.

Don't forget about the two Crazy Canucks who drove down from the Great White North one year with one bike between the two of them. Both of them had full on Hockey Playoff beards going on and had been living off grid for a while, they looked as if they were homeless.
Well one morning King Glamis wakes up just as the sun is rising and hikes over to the train track to get a picture of the dunes as the sun rises upon them. Well One of the Canucks had gone to the far side of the tracks to well use natures facility and was heading back. Old KG thinks it is a homeless guy sneaking into camp and follows him back to a tent with a bike as the guy starts to mess with the bike and moments away from a citizens arrest/ ass whooping. The other homeless guy comes out of the tent and starts looking the bike over as well.

I will let somebody else talk about the incredible adventure of Fast Mr. Furley and his midnight stroll thru camp... while dragging a boat anchor!

I wasn't part of the wash 22 group, started out at wash 2 in 1998 then gradated to wash 6 around 01 to 09ish. And now 11-13 in a solid group.

My first trip to G was with @SandTrap at wash 13?

Wes did a turkey in oil (deep fried) for Thanksgiving. That was The best turkey I've Ever had. 👍🏼👍🏼

Stayed in 22 after that. We all got up early to dune, right about the same time 13.5 was getting to bed!

😜
