Let me let you in on something that is not widely known about this.  Turns out, it was apparently "Bear Week"  in Provincetown the week of July 4, so I'll leave it up to yore imagination as to what may have happened there (Hint: Typhoid Barrys).   Methinks this one is a statistical anomaly.

That being said, the headlines are out and they are sensational, but once you dig into the details of the stories, it seems that breakthrough infections are up, but more than anything, cases are up amongst the unvaxxed and it appears that "they" are correct in saying the delta variant is more contagious than anything we've yet seen and cases are rising dramatically.  See Florida for reference as they have not had many restrictions and their numbers are spiking as well as in other states that didn't enforce mask mandates, close down businesses etc.

There isn't too much new out there, but here are a few new charts to ponder:

And anecdotally, this weekend I ran into 3 friends who are all young (late 20s /  30s) who just got over the 'rona.  All 3 were unvaxxed and the oldest is a very fit girl who had to go to the hospital twice. One of her kids also came down with it.  The other 2 are a couple and they were just pretty sick for a week or so.  None had been wearing masks at work since June15 and all 3 work in hospitality at different locations in the South Bay.

My guess:  we "snapped back" a bit too quickly (honor system was a joke) and the new variant, coupled with increased human activity is driving this wave. Get ready for vax mandates.

This is exactly how I felt when I had it. But one more symptom, absolutely no energy. I couldn't stand for more then a couple of minuets.  Contagious, my wife got off a plane and was sick 3 days later. Three days after this I'm sick. My son comes over and then he's got it. Thankfully I had a rescue inhaler for asthma and I used the heck out of it.

I got the vax and still wear a mask in public indoors so I can be around my grand kids who cannot due to young age. Feel like it was the least I could do as they are the one who are going to be left defenseless.

 
Curious... how exactly are they detecting the Delta vs the other variants? All the tests are the same... right?

84 deaths since March, that is NOT a pandemic. Direct from the CDC itself (table below for the 2018-2019 flu season (not even the whole year). This chart shows 61.2 deaths per 100k. Let's take that SD County population of 3.3m and apply the math. This puts the death toll of influenza in SDC at 2,019.6 just for the flu season and not one person batted an eye, not even a bigger push than any other year to get yore flu vax, no masks, no mandates, no schools or businesses shut down. Mind you, this is ALL self reporting and prior to "care givers" receiving $1500 per "case"... it's all bullCrap...

I'm curious about your friend who went to the hospital twice. What did she go there for and how did they treat her? Is she anxious person?

Admittedly, every time I get a sniffle or a cough I start to get paranoid, then you read all the Doom and gloom and I can see how it would make people go to the hospital when they otherwise wouldn't have. I'm not saying that's the case I'm just curious how they treated her symptoms more than anything.

Has anyone ever been tested for the flu/influenza?  Also, does Pneumonia fall into these stats?  Just wondering how they come up with "Estimated" stats when nobody gets tested.

My theory is that it's about the upcoming elections and keeping the same voting procedures put in place for the 2020 elections due to Covid. It worked out well for them last time and the Dems stand to lose the house and the senate if they don't take advantage of a crisis that they created.

A family friend that is 74 years old got the vaccine when they first became available then 2 months ago was hospitalized with all the symptoms of COVID but they never actually tested for it, She is fine now, I just find it interesting as to why she was not tested 

 
not sure if it came up or not yet but has anyone else noticed that the next variant didn't come out till all the people were getting shots? :dunno:   Would it surprise anyone if they were actually injecting the latest variants as boosters? This is why they're getting a big :effu:  from me

 
I realized the other day, I haven't heard the term "pre-existing conditions" in a couple months when reporting on this Crap.

If you say you are fully vaxxed, they are not testing for it.  That was actually reported in the news here a month or so ago.

My son was ill enough this last week to end up at the ER - was severely dehydrated from diarrhea for 4 days that wasn't even close to over.

Two bags of saline and sent him home - no testing at all - ER doctor told him since he was fully vaxxed there was "no point" to a test?

I would assume by "no point" he meant "We don't want numbers to show this sh** we're pushing so hard doesn't even work"

 
I don't believe people will line up and get the vaccine even if it was FDA approved.  To me it is a mute point anymore.  People that wanted it have gotten it, and those that don't are strongly opposed to it, for whatever reasons.  Politics and trust of the government aren't going to change anytime soon.  Even if Trump came out and said get the Vaccine because he developed it, people still won't get it.  Covid isn't going away anytime soon, the Flu hasn't.  

My long range thoughts, this will shorten our overall life expectancy, "Survival of the Fittest", Natural Selection.

 
This Covid crap is NOT going away anytime soon / They will hang onto this as a distraction while the $$$$$$ FLY out the door under fancy names like "rescue plan"  "INFICTURE"......etc

I will say that the whole "pandemic" has made me lose complete trust and confidence in the U.S. government, the World government, the media...the list goes on.  For decades, the UN and other organizations have been trying to create the "New World Order" and gain the ability to govern the U.S.  I simply trust no one at this point.

Private sector is now or will soon be mandating proof of vaccination / negative tests (courts have already ruled in favor of this).

Next concert you go to, chances are this policy will be in place (see Lalapolooza last week in Chicago) .  Restaurants and movie theaters moving in this direction as well.  Will it be easier for you to get tested, vaccinated, or not go to a show at all?

In Mexico, they take your temp everywhere.  Pretty easy, if your temperature is high, you don't get to enter.  Everyone gets tested, no need to worry about the vaccine and  conspiracy theories.

Really have no idea if this helps or not, but interesting way of dealing with it.  FYI, they also make you walk into a bath of sort for your shoes, I am not aware of any transmissions from my flip flops....................

 
I DGAF if proof is required to go anywhere! NEVER!! I don't need to go anywhere, especially if all that happens is running into a bunch dumb ass sheep. You can take your vax and your masks and shove them so far up yours!! 

Grocery store - don't need them. Can order my food and have delivered.
Bank - haven't stepped in a bank in 10 years. it's called online banking.
