What is the best camshaft for NA 425 stroker ls 3 motor 91 octane fuel

There is WAY more to picking a cam than what you have posted here.

It's more of an art than a science, and this is something your engine builder should be deciding for you.

Or, if you're building it yourself...

Pick a cam company, call their tech support number, and have a nice long chat with them.

They will have Lots of questions for you. Be ready.

Time out ...

I just realized this post is in SxS Technical!

🤔😁

I agree on the calling a cam company and giving them what you want the motor to do for you. They will steer you right every time.

TSP has be good for me but I don’t think there is really a bad company out there.

Example: If you want the best dyno number at 6500RPM they can get that… if you want good mid-range acceleration, they would recommend something different.

My driving style is hard on the gas, hard off the gas pulling 3000 to 5500 or so. More interested in that than something that maximizes air flow and overlap at rev limiter.

I agree w/the 2 above....call Customer Support

We mostly use cams from CamMotion, due to the lobe design, we stay away from Texas Speed it is to harsh of a lobe beats on the valve train,

I would do a around a 238/244 on a 112 if you want it to lope, if you want a smooth idle then stay closer to a 114-114 lsa,

Most of the 44) I get into the 240ish/250ish cam 228-232 on the intake if it was a 416,

this would be a choppy idle

if you wanted a smoother idle

Jason can you recommend a cam motion cam for a stock ls1 bore and stroke with ported 243 heads and a 660 spring kit?
I'm going to hop up the motor currently in the car with a heads cam and intake package while i collect parts for the stroker.

I used a custom grind cam from Cammotion when building a turbo 5.3 years ago. they were great to deal with!

Before anyone can answer:

1. What's your idea and feeling on revving the pissing out of it? Some people don't want to see over 5000, others are willing to bang limiter at 7k and are pissed it won't go higher.
2. Do you expect to leave it in 3rd and dune forever, or willing to accept some bog off idle and downshift?
3. What heads/intake?
