On a h pattern dog box can u pre load the shifter for the next shift and shift clutch less like u can on a sequential ?

If it's a dog box, you should be able to.

Doesn't mean you should. It's still better to use the clutch.

The issue is that the dogs can round the edges, when this happens, it does not hold a gear,

I have missed a shift (grind it till you find it) and it does not take much to roll a dog,
Shift Aggressive, I use the clutch on mine,

Just wondered if the different mechanism of the 2 types would play a role in preloading before a shift . I guess a sequential would be called a wratchet ?
Dont think they use a drum ?
I am all for using a clutch on a h .
Just curious. Been using no clutch on my mendi 7 years , no problems.

Yeah, it's usually shift forks just like in a synchromesh. They just replace the synchro cones with dog engagement teeth. Same process to operate: lift, shift (or throttle cut with a strain sensor). Just pull back a bit, chop the throttle, slam it into the next gear like it owes you money, and motor on. :)
