just curious if anyone has seen one or know of any successful reports of someone running one. I am usually a "KISS" kind of guy but i do have some interest in a custom project

Maybe he's thinking low end... Be cool to get supercharger type results with turbos.Never seen or even heard of one. If it worked there would be plenty out there already. With these new cars making 30psi why compound them? The LS style block can only handle so much pressure.
i imagine a compound gas vehicle would produce really high cylinder head temps if the heads arent tuned on a flow benchBiggest issue isn’t getting response, it’s getting enough exhaust flow for higher power. Need a huge wastegate to get the small turbo to not be a restriction
Supras had them, most ditched it for a single setup, but that’s because you could make stupid power back then…i imagine a compound gas vehicle would produce really high cylinder head temps if the heads arent tuned on a flow bench
This is the same mentality most folks had when Andrew Buck put big shocks and LS motors in bigger frames in the late 90's.Never seen or even heard of one. Sick. All teh STU STU STU STUs
Sounds like the biggest issue they have with it is the head.Sick. All teh STU STU STU STUs
But I don't think that's a good dune setup![]()
super charger are not as efficient as a turbo and from what i see, compound turbos are even more efficient than just one turbo making the same boost. . i think it would be cool. i think the bottom end could be just as good if not even better than a super charger. besides being less efficient they are also heavy and top heavy at thatSounds like the biggest issue they have with it is the head.
For the average to above average not joe blow do it myself tinkerer; why not just run a supercharger?
My neighbor has a corvette he races.
He recently supercharged it all under the hood. Its basically looks like a belt drive turbo (texas speed)
What type of motor are you thinking? I would think a inline or flat 6 or 12 cylinder would be best to try it with.super charger are not as efficient as a turbo and from what i see, compound turbos are even more efficient than just one turbo making the same boost. . i think it would be cool. i think the bottom end could be just as good if not even better than a super charger. besides being less efficient they are also heavy and top heavy at that
Nissan GTR twin turbo V6 VR38TT. This motor is rated stock HP at 545. these motors can make 1000 hp in stock form. With mild upgrades are in the 12-1500 hp range. T1 even makes a 4.1 liter stroker motor, billet block (costing $70k) and is in every fastest R35 car in the worldWhat type of motor are you thinking?
