Got back in to RC cars

Fun stuff!
I had the Tamiya Frog...thought that was cool till my cousin bought the RC10.
LOL

My first real RC Car also. This car taught me how to solder as a kid, that POS speed control would always give me problems until dad showed me how to fix it. Keeping these cars running as a kid taught us how to work on stuff, lots of great memories !

@SLIM I used to work at a Toy store throughout my high school years and when someone would buy and RC car, I offered to build it for them for $50. I would take the kit's home and build them charge them up and made sure they ran!
Lot of Dad's took me up on that so they didn't have to do it and their spoiled little brat had a toy to play with immediately on Christmas...that is if they bought in time for me to put it together!
LOL

Exactly! I had to build mine, no way my dad was paying someone to build it. Of course my best friends dad has his built for him and he could never fix anything, same is true for him today :ROFLMAO:

I saw that. That's the only reason I started to rebuild mine. The parts are super hard to get or very expensive. With the re-release parts should be available again
I am probably going to get one once they are released. Our local tracks in Camarillo and Hotrods would be fun with a 1/10th scale gas truck.

What's another r/c car at this point. I think my kid is up to 6 race cars. LOL!

My son got a Traxxas Stampede BL-2S for Christmas. He was kind of bored playing with it by himself, so I now have one 2. Pretty nice little truck out of the box for an RTR .

I won a Yokomo MX-4 w/painted body/wing in a waffle a couple days ago. Weird not having a million speedos/radios available to pair with it now. I've already started scouring ebay for period correct electronics.

My first RC was that middle Revo. Got it from Coobie. That old Kysho MP6 was his too. That old POS RC10 on the right i got from some dude. Never ran right.
Miss that Revo. I had it dialed but traded to Rubberneck for a gun. He sold it off

Just get some newer Reedy or Hobbywing electronics. My buddy builds a bunch of vintage r/c cars and he puts newer electronics in them.

Had a bunch of fun with this car after the Frog, Currently have a Losi Baja Rey.

Nah, not for the vintage cars for me; I always use era specific components. I wasn't posting on GD back when I had my vintage collection but it was pretty crazy. Was one of the hardest things to let go of when I sold the house.

For this one, I'm on the hunt for a Caliber 3ps or M8 along with a Tekin G12 speedo and Airtronics 94358 servo. Batteries will be the hard part; 2000s in good shape aren't easy to find. Undecided on the motor at this point.

Edited to make it readable lol

Yesterday's fun at The Dirt in Perris before the rain arrived. The Factory NSX race had a supercross inspired layout. Kiddo was racing with several of the top pros in the nation.

Getting a couple toys together to play with out there. Not sure if we are going to start racing or not. Just going to play out there for now. We have the 4wd scte, nitro rc10gt, and I got some track tires and sway bars for my sledge.

Got some batteries for it today. Gotta find somebody that has a stash of battery bars and wire up a saddle pack.
