    RZR turbo S trans seized

Johnny Cross is a good guy if you are local to him. I worked with a bit on RJ Anderson's team. He'll get you sorted out. My shop is fully up and running as of last week if you are willing to get here to Lake Havasu, I am now accepting all services.

    RZR turbo S trans seized

I'll throw my hat in the ring as well if you want it rebuilt. Currently stocked up on seals and bearings. Just need to order any major parts that are broken.

Shifter adjustment on Mendeola E model transmission

A few things to keep in mind: 1. There is no difference in E-box and 2D nosecones, they are both VW Type 1 nosecones and the same externally with the exception that the "2D" nosecone has been machined internally for the larger mainshaft bearing. 2. There is such a thing as a Type 1 shift shaft...

Sequential Gearbox - Do You Clutch or Not?

I don't know how this guy is but mostly good information with a few notes: 1. You can downshift without the clutch, it requires a blip of the throttle as you shift so throw the dogs forward and into the next gear. This is not easy when under braking at the same time. Using the clutch is fine...

    Clutches! Weddle Vs KEP

Since this discussion was resurrected, Weddle is no longer producing a 9" twin disc clutch package. They were going to double in cost and the sales volume wasn't there anyways. It's a bummer because they were a great clutch.

    Alumicraft #103 Build Lookback

It was for a crazy 2000 HP road car build. It was a nightmare I'd rather not relive.

    Alumicraft #103 Build Lookback

If you thought waiting 1.5 years for your trans was long, that ST6-M behind yours on the cart was 2.5 years from deposit to delivery. I was thoroughly chewed out on a monthly basis from that customer. Covid was a rough time for transaxle customer service.

Couple pics from Dirt Expo in Havasu this weekend

I was planning on heading down there Saturday, but got busy and forgot all about it. Looks like a good show, might need to set up a booth next year.

    Clutch problems suck

Clutch management like used in drag cars would probably help. Slowing down the clutch engagement would help how hard it hits and reduce the stress on those tabs.

    Clutch problems suck

So I understand properly, the floater is the steel disc sandwiched between the the 2 friction discs, and you are ripping the 6 tabs that locate the floater in the flywheel? When does this typically happen? During a hard launch from a dead stop? Or during hard use over rough terrain? I have...

Stopped by R3 fabrication! (Shop Tour)

Chris has been around in this industry for quite some time for those that don't know him. He certainly does quality work.

I never thought I would say this

I would hope that the manufactures can come to a sensible realization and agreement to self govern themselves on this issue. Personally I believe 85 MPH is plenty fast for any of these units right off the showroom floor for any Tom, Dick, or Harry to drive at that speed right off the trailer...

Sand Car Prices - New and Refresh

I've posed this question to every car builder I have come in contact with over the past 5 years. Answers range from "It simply cannot be achieved based on materials and labor costs" to "why should I stop building $250k+ cars to build a sub $100k car?". Every answer has it's merits. I think...

    Driving tips- ls1/s4

Is your S4 brand new? Or purchased used? If used, it may have the older shift mechanism in it that causes the missed shifts. I would suggest upgrading to the new Gen 3 mechanism next time it needs to be serviced. You might also consider a changing gear ratio's to better suit your driving style.

Sequential Gearbox - Do You Clutch or Not?

What is "something"? There needs to be as little slop in the cable/linkage as possible. If there is anything loose in the shifter, cable, rod ends, etc. you are going to feel that when you preload the shifter.
