Here’s an onboard dune run with the Barbieri’s from Gecko set to Road runner set. Super rutted and rough. And all the HP was used to keep up with them. Those big cars sure get through the rough stuff with ease.
Lights work great! Baja sports in the very center and are spots for far out, front corners are Baja XL Floods and at the A-pillar are cheap LEDs pointed 45° out for corners. For only having a few it does good enough to lead, lol.
Just wrapped up a trip for New Years.
The sand was absolute carnage some sections in the busy areas had ruts so deep I was almost rubbing my skid pan.
Switched the fronts out for some 8.50-15 razor backs from STU. They are the perfect tire for these little cars. So light, and narrow. I can...
I have the same exact trailer and have been trying to find more info on value. Hard to find 20' Stackers. Very nice Trailer, I love the options yours has.
I have! 3 trips now in the car! Having been in a good handful of cars of the same era, I can comfortably say that I understand why so many people have a great love for the early Alumicrafts. For a 4 seat, single shock sandcar, this car absolutely gets down! It is a blast to drive and definitely...
Ive been waiting for someone to bring up Podium because I love there work but everytime i see their new car, I cant help but see an Alumicraft.... in almost every way... but i dont know enough about them yet. Thats great info to start with and makes sense.
All bearings are getting replaced, new axles are on order, B pillar added and the prep continues. My buddy at Sandburg Speedshop is saving my butt on going through this car. This usually takes me a few weeks to go through a car when I get it and he’s knocking it out in what’s been a week. Might...
I know someone in here knows this car. The guy that I got it from mentioned he bought it off someone from this site around 2013-2014 ish.
Stock 2.0 subi on about 8# and a built 091. He has a wrap over the paint and says its white panels with blue flames. Will confirm soon enough. The chassis is...
Absolutely. I very much agree with this point! I have outrun LS Sand cars and canams in a short travel Mazzone only because I knew what its strong points were and capitalized on them every chance I could. That run still gets brought up every time that group wants to do a night run. Suspension...
All great info. Thank You for the insights. I have been in Fast Kennys car and it handles great, but being passenger only gets you so much info and direct feedback. I am looking at a early Cooley car at the moment and Alumicraft has been on my list of cars to try on for size for a while now. Im...
