What do you dislike about Glamis?

GLAMIS WEATHER
people who leave trash - Drive fast near camp - disrespect to the nature and beauty

TOO MANY EVENTS / BIG HYPED WEEKENDS one after another filled with inconsiderate azzwipes who lock down the pads with ghost camps and act like they are the only people around because they have a fancy pimped out toy that cost more than I make in a year and think zero rules apply to them. I love Glamis for Solitude - Lately - I have to go in the off season just to get that vibe because during the season there isn't many "off weekends anymore" I hate that

Pretty simple BUT we can't seem to adhere to a simple plan: Leave it better than you found it AND Don't be a Dick ! - PERIOD !

I have comitted to 1X pper month (or more) every month. So far its been INCREDIBLE ! Just the ATC 250R or the 450 YFZ Quad and some Carne asada and DONE - Its AWESOME

-Trash left behind is the biggest issue....too may azzhats that just leave their trash / beer cans etc. wherever the F they stop is BS!
But we all know there is no way to stop it unfortuanetly....some humans are just that TRASH!

-If you build a kiddie track for your kids, I get it, my girls were little once too riding their Yamaha 80's...but set some damn safety cones up so folks can know there's a hazard there especially at night....and when the weekend is over, knock it down the best you can.
My kids kiddy-tracked it up everywhere…

Never once have I see anyone build one. They’re just there.

Having camped by the big track near the entrance to Wash 6 for many seasons now, I’d counter with slow down. Kiddy tracks are always near camp, near camp should be a cruise. I can’t tell you how many nights I’ve had the walls of the motorhome shake and hear gravel hit it from people going balls out past camp.

Not directed at you, but I’ve rescued dozens upon dozens of people from their mistake crashing into that track. Every single one was hauling ass. The majority of them have dozens of beer cans falling out of their wreck as I winch it back over, and I’m getting really tired of seeing these cans falling out of smashed up vehicles that had kids in them. Even more so when they’re in such a damned hurry to leave before the Rangers get there they don’t even shake your hand or thank you. At least half the time, by the time I get the winch rope back on the drum, they’re already driving their wreck away to avoid the field sobriety test.

I have also had more than one person yell at me for not marking this track with cones. Not sure how this is my responsibility, it’s been there for decades and is literally visible from space…

What I dislike about Glamis?

Chatter bumps
Drunk driving
People buzzing camp at Mach Jesus.

One of the reasons we stopped putting as much effort into Glamis being a hobby as in the years past was my only 2021 trip. Hadn't been out since 2017 Veterans Trip.

I had just bought my new Attitude Toy Hauler and put weeks worth of work getting everything ready for our first trip, with it. I was DEAD tired by the time we were ready to go and my Fiancée was 100% new to all of this (had only tent camped in the mountains).

We show up at Wash 25 on a Thursday thinking, "We'll be good here. Nice and quiet, I get to teach her how to ride her new quad in a safe area and we don't have to deal with the bullshit. And... I CAN SLEEP!"

Well, I was wrong. The bullshit came right to our front door.

Wash 25.

Years past, this place was a ghost town. MAYBE one camp every time we went down there in the 201X's.

Then came Friday.

Now, it's like the fucking Stampede in Temecula had to COMPANION CAMP within FEET of us. Literally three camps within pissing distance, surrounding us and ALL of them playing Jason fucking Aldean until 3 am.

5th gear through camp, all day... all night. EVERYONE.

"What the fuck happened here?! Why is Wash 25 WORSE than Wash 6?!"

One month later we discovered a really nice hotel in Yosemite and have stuck with that. Twice a year. Worst BS I see on a trip is some dumbfuck in a Tesla driving with chains on the dry pavement. I'll take that over what Glamis has to offer, any day.

Chatter bumps, sxs with strobe lights you already know who. no camping unless you get to gecko wednesday morning. getting harder to love this place for sure.

I pretty much agree with everyone.

The anxiety i have driving out and trying to find a camping spot is over the top. I go out early and try and find a spot for the group. I find a great spot, and then 100 other campers park right next to me, it is really over the top, The lack of respect of space is crazy.

I can really deal with everything else, but as we spend more money every year on passes and not a single improvement has made my experience better.

Trash, Loud Music after 10pm, pit racers, no hand signals when coming up on groups, and just a general lack of respect for the area and other people...
When there are two behind me the oncoming traffic always gives me the peace sign no matter how many are behind them. 🤣

What’s the name of the hotel and do they have connecting rooms?
