On my current project, we are throwing around the idea of installing a fuel gauge in the car. Tank will be customer built and will be a rectangle shape, roughly 20 gallons and 8" deep. What's the consensus, is it worth putting a gas gauge in the car or is it a waste of time and something you don't really use?

I wouldn't have another car without it one, to many times I've ran out of fuel with a 20-gallon tank.

If you are building a tank I would add one for sure! My last car had one and I loved it, new car doesnt and I wish it did

I use my gauge all the time.
We will drive for over 1 hour and at 27 gallons, I am close to running out.
For sure add a gauge.

FOR SURE - @J Alper put one in my car and I LOVE IT !!!!! I was also the guy who has the " TURN THE GAS ON DUMMY " sticker on my motorcycle tank !!!!!

My new car has one and I really like it but if you have a tank with an easily accessible cap to view it's not the end of the world not to have one.

I have a sight gauge in my car but would prefer a fuel gauge on the dash.

Can you elaborate on that ? My new to me car is getting the Holley ECU and dash.

Uses an SAE standard 5-bolt pattern. If you don't have one, you'll need to add one:

It can also work with an ohm style gauge like most sand cars already have. Its pretty easy to setup and wire directly into the holley screen
