In January 2026, a federal court judge ruled against the BLM and ordered the closure of as much as 2,200 miles of OHV routes in designated Desert Tortoise Critical Habitat in the Mojave Desert until a new route designation plan is undertaken and completed. Route closures could start as soon as late March 2026, and the BLM does have the option to appeal this decision. Although the court has spoken, and loudly, what’s next is in the BLM’s hands.

In the greater Jawbone region OHV routes to be closed are in the Rand Mountains, Red Mountain area, Cuddeback Lake, and Kramer Hills.

In the Barstow region, OHV routes to be closed are north of Harper Valley and Hinkley, north of I-15 to the Cronese Lakes, and in the Ord, Newberry and Rodman Mountains.

Those pieces of shit NEVER friggen stop... more BULLSHIT OHV use has ZERO impact on the tortoise. The RAVENS have EVERYTHING to do with it..again a friggen Judge deciding on how things should be run...

this will effectively Close MOST Of the hight desert outside of JV and Stodard wells....imagine EVERYONE in JV.... that's what they wanted since 81 so they can shut that down too.... it's all a Plan and the fuckers Don't stop......

Who took Ed's place at FoJ?

Contact the orgs that supposedly fight for public access and find out what they are doing to stop this.

CORVA, Cal4Wheel, AMA Disst37, etc etc etc, can't swing a dead cat without hitting an org that covers the desert and fights for access... who's got the ball on this one and what are they doing?

I think this is a done deal already.

This suit started back in 06! The BLM finally ran out of options. The CBD wins again. 😡😡😡

Cowards won't do it in person! LOL

I've seen the future. Here's how it goes down...

This is federal land and it is due to the BLM not properly managing the area. This is a federal issue, not a state issue. Dove Springs is the only OHV area and not effected.

Oh and today is a nice 70 degrees.
You just done schooled most of these mofos.
