The real issue in small city government, they are elected
because they seem like a nice guy. But, they have no clue about
finance, (The real cost of money) proper government policies,
how anything is built or maintained, and tend to make "Rules"
based upon some buddies "Thoughts" not whats right.
Dave is not that type of guy. He understands money and how to build stuff.
I say, Vote for River Dave.
 
I dipped my foot in small town politics; you better have thick skin because the haters will ruin your life. My skin wasn't thick enough and all the small town facebook pages really made me hate people that I thought were good acquittances. Still bitter............Good luck.

So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive. But believe me I understand before this is over. I am sure people are gonna be taking shots.

I have considered all the angles and even have talked to comms team about it. I don’t really have any major skeletons in the closet.

There are some people out here on a gravy train though and I suspect they are gonna be real unhappy when I quit there forever funding etc. lol.
 
You're a braver man than I am. We had a member here that ran for a council position and people did nothing but lie and put hit pieces out on him. Even have the local paper talking shit about him. Some dirty ass, shitty people out there.. Good luck boss
 
While I was doing my political stuff, lots of lies. I was fine with most of it, but my family took it was harder than I did. One person was the ringleader and has a Facebook following, I even talk to a lawyer about defamation, but realize it just isn't worth it. The experience basically ended me volunteering locally, really sad but I became jaded on giving back to a community that made up lies about me.

That really sucks and sorry to hear it. This community (not this particular board, but Glamis) has similarities. Lots of egos that need to be stroked. I spend half my time out there freely on behalf of others and the other half regretting it due to said shitbags.
